1 Research objectiveIn order to provide countermeasures and suggestions in enhancing the work safety of the doctors, improving their psychological status and increasing their satisfaction with life, this article will understand the violence encountered by the doctors of the third-level grade-A hospital in different jurisdictions of Guangzhou during the process of work, the depression tendency of the doctors under investigation and their satisfaction status, and will analyze the correlation of workplace violence with depression tendency and life satisfaction.2 Research objects and methods2.1 Research objectsThis article has taken the doctors of five hospitals of third-level grade-A hospital in Baiyun district,Tianhe district and Haizhu district in Guangdong province(Nan Fang Hospital,Zhujiang Hospital,Guangdong Provincial Stomatological Hospital,The Third Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University and Guangdong No.2 Provincial People's Hospital)as research objects from July,2016 to March,2017,issuing questionnaires and guiding them to fill in.(Screening conditions:1.Having worked at least one year, know the facts of the research and agree to cooperate;2.No other incidents except the workplace violence over the past 12 months, such as traffic accident, death of loved ones, natural disaster and so on;3.No history of depression).2.2 Research methods2.2.1 The tool of measurement indexA questionnaire was drawn up through referring to the literature, which consists of four parts:1.to look into the demographic sociological data of the research objects, such as gender, age, marital status, working years, educational status, title and so on;2.to survey the violence condition in workplace(the times of suffering from language attack, body attack and sexual harassment, the cognitive state of the doctors to violence and the attitude of the hospital toward violence);3.The Chinese version of Catchment-area Epidemiology Survey-Depression(CES-D)consists of 20 entries to survey 20 symptoms,4 options for each entry, the total points less than 16(<16)will be regarded as no depression tendency, while the total points more than and equal to 16(?16)will be regarded as having depression tendency, the higher the score, the more severe depression. It must be pointed out that the depression tendency is different from clinical depression, but it will affect the mood of the people, reduce the immunity and resistance of their bodies and have bad influence on the normal life;4.The Chinese version of Satisfaction With Life Scale(SWLS)consists of 5 entries,7 options for each entry, scoring with Linkert7,the total points more than 20(?20)will be regarded as overall satisfaction with life, while the total points less than 20(<20)will be regarded as overall dissatisfaction with life. The whole questionnaire consists of 43 questions and will be generally finished in about 5 minutes by the research objects.2.2.2 Survey methodA pre-survey toward a small group(42 people)was conducted before the formal investigation, some amendments were made according to the filling condition of the questionnaires, then a wide range of investigations was started,950 questionnaires were issued successively,859 copies were recovered,so the recovery rate was 90.4%,and the effective questionnaires were 820 copies,so the effective reply rate was 95.5%.2.2.3 Statistical methodAll the questionnaires were entered into EpiData after collecting, also entered into the Statistic Package for Social Science(SPSS20.0),and the data was analyzed through descriptive statistics,chi-square test and two logistic regression analysis(The difference for data processing and analysis P<0.05 is considered statistically significant).3 Results3.1 The workplace violence of the doctors in the third-level grade-A hospitals of Guangzhou444 doctors(54.1%)among the investigated 820 doctors said they had suffered from workplace violence in different forms during the past year(may be one or several forms in language attack, language threat, body attack and sexual harassment),the proportion has been more than half. Most of them have suffered from language violence,of which scolding was the most frequent((49.02%),44 doctors(5.4%)have suffered from scolding more than 3 times, and 12 doctors(1.5%)have suffered from language threat more than 3 times;body attack was in the next place(15%),116 doctors said they had suffered from body attack 1 time, and 1 doctor had suffered from the attack more than 3 times;40 doctors have suffered from sexual harassment, among which 3 doctors said they had suffered from sexual harassment 2 or 3 times.3.2 The depression tendency of the doctors in the third-level grade-A hospitals of GuangzhouAmong all the investigated doctors,390 doctors have not had the depression tendency with the points from 0 to 15,and the proportion is 47.6%;430 doctors have had the depression tendency with the points from 16-47,and the proportion is 52.4%?3.3 The satisfaction with life of the doctors in the third-level grade-A hospitals of GuangzhouThrough the analysis of 820 effective questionnaires,273 doctors said they were not satisfied with the current living condition overall, accounting for 33.3%of the total number;while 547 doctors said they were satisfied with the current life overall, and the proportion was 66.7%.3.4 Workplace violence has significant influence on the depression condition of the doctorsTaking whether the doctor has suffered from workplace violence as independent variable, and taking whether he or she has had depression tendency as dependent variable, the result of chi-square test showed that:for the doctors who have not suffered from violence, the proportion of having depression tendency was 28.5%(107 people),and the proportion of no having depression tendency was 71.5%(269 people);for the doctors who have suffered from violence, the proportion of having depression tendency was 72.7%(323 people),and the proportion of no having depression tendency was 27.3%(121 people);it has seen than the proportion of depression tendency for the doctors who have suffered from violence(72.7%)was much higher than the proportion for the doctors who have not suffered from violence(28.5%),the depression tendency was very significantly prone to the violence situation(x2=160.129,P<0.01).3.5 Workplace violence has significant influence on the satisfaction with life of the doctorsTaking whether the doctor has suffered from workplace violence as independent variable, and taking their satisfaction with life as dependent variable, the result of chi-square test showed that:significant differences existed in the life satisfaction of clinicians with or without violence(?2=168.097,P<0.01),in other words, the life satisfaction of clinicians with or without workplace violence was different, the clinicians who have not suffered from workplace violence had higher satisfaction with life.4 Conclusion54.1%of the 820 doctors who were investigated have suffered from workplace violence in the past year, the proportion has been more than half,no matter what form of violence happened, this has shown that the safety of the work environment of the doctors in the third-level grade-A hospitals of Guangzhou was not very good, which should attract the attention of hospitals, relevant health administrative departments and personnel;the data showed that 52.4%of the doctors had depression tendency, although the depression tendency was different from the depression in medicine, this showed that the psychological status of the doctors was poor to a certain extent, which was worrying;moreover,33.3%of the doctors who were investigated said that they were not satisfied with the current living condition, which was a higher proportion,so the living conditions of the doctors should be adjusted.
