Objective:The purpose of this study was to explore the present situation of pain management among emergency medical staff through qualitative research and to explore the causes of this situation,and then to understand the present situation of pain management knowledge and attitude of emergency medical staff through questionnaire survey and analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide scientific basis for the formulation of targeted training programs in the future.Methods:This study is divided into two parts:1.The Qualitative study on the present situation and causes of pain management for emergency medical staff.By taking the purpose of sampling,14 emergency medical staffs in Subei people's Hospital of Jiangsu Province from October to December 2017 were interviewed by semi-structured interview,and the data were analyzed by content analysis method to understand the present situation of pain management implementation of emergency medical staff and the reasons affecting the standard implementation of pain management.2.Analysis of knowledge and attitude of pain management among emergency medical staff and its influencing factors.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,a total of 440 emergency medical staffs from 6 general hospitals in Yangzhou area were selected from March to August 2018.The Chinese version of "Knowledge and Attitudes Survey Regarding Pain,KASRP"questionnaire was used to understand the present situation of pain management knowledge and attitude of emergency medical staff and the influencing factors were analyzed.All the data were input into SPSS 17.0 statistical software for data analysis.Results:1.The Qualitative study on the present situation and causes of pain management for emergency medical staff.Through the method of content analysis,this paper sums up three themes:(1)the knowledge of pain management of emergency medical staff was not comprehensive;(2)the implementation of pain management of emergency medical staff was not standardized;(3)the reasons that affected the standard pain management of emergency medical staff were various,including:1)the lack of understanding of the harm of pain;2)the imperfect system and process,and the lack of training;3)the particularity of emergency work;4)previous pain experience of medical staff.2.Analysis of knowledge and attitude of pain management among emergency medical staff and its influencing factors.(1)Questionnaire survey was conducted on 440 emergency medical staffs who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria,and 406 valid questionnaires were collected.The effective recovery rate was 92.3%.(2)KASRP Chinese version questionnaire consisted of 40 items.The emergency medical staffs scored 10-32 points,with a total score of 19.28±3.71 points.The answer correct rate was 25%-80%,the correct answer rate was 35%-60%,with the highest number(85.47%),among which the doctors' average answer rate was 53.29%,the nurses' average answer rate was 45.45%,and 406 medical staffs only 1 person reached the 80%pass line set by the author of the questionnaire.(3)Multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis showed that the factors influencing the doctors' pain management knowledge and attitude questionnaire were the hospital's grade,education,emergency work years,past pain experience;the nurses' pain management knowledge and attitude questionnaire were the hospital's grade,emergency work years,emergency nurse specialists.Conclusion:1.The knowledge and attitude level of pain management of emergency medical staff was low,and the implementation of pain management was not standard.2.The main influencing factors of pain management knowledge and attitude of emergency medical staff were the hospital's grade,education,emergency work years,past pain experience,emergency nurse specialists,hospitals can use these influencing factors as a reference to develop a hierarchical,targeted training program.
