Objectives:The purpose of this study is to explore the status and the factors of the information literacy,coping self-efficacy and coping styles of nursing undergraduates under diversified teaching methods and another purpose of this study is to explore the correlation between information literacy and coping self-efficacy as well as coping styles of nursing undergraduates in J university,which would provide reference and basis for improving teaching methods,teaching effects and further studying the core literacy of nursing undergraduates.Method:In this study,we used the convenience sampling method and a questionnaire survey was conducted from November 2017 to May 2018 for nursing undergraduates of grade 2013,2014 and 2015 who met the inclusion criteria in J University in Changchun.The survey tools included five parts: the general demographic survey questionnaire,the feedback questionnaire of diversified teaching methods,the Information Literacy Competency Scale of the Applied Undergraduate Student(ILCSAUS),the Coping Efficacy Scale and the Trait Coping Style Questionnaire(TCSQ).Epidata3.1 and SPSS23.0 statistics software were used for inputting and analyzing data separately.Descriptive analysis was used for general demographic data and the feedback of diversified teaching methods,the data of normal distribution were described with the mean and standard deviation(X ±S),and the data of non-normal distribution were described with the median(M)and four decimal digits(P25,P75).The enumeration data were expressed in frequency and percentage(%).The independent t-tests,one-way analysis of variance and nonparametric tests examined the differences of information literacy,coping self-efficacy and coping styles scores based on the general demographic data and the feedback on diversified teaching methods.Spearman's correlation test was employed to measure the correlation between information literacy and coping self-efficacy as well as coping styles.Multivariate stepwise regression analysis was used to explore the effect of information literacy on the coping self-efficacy and coping styles of nursing undergraduates.Results?1.A total of 301 nursing undergraduates were effectively studied.Under the diversified teaching methods,the mean information literacy score of nursing undergraduates was 3.61(3.27,3.94).The highest score was in the dimension of information awareness 4.00(3.80,4.40),followed by information security and morality 4.00(3.50,4.50),information application and creation 3.67(3.00,4.00),and information skills(3.45 ± 0.63).The mean coping self-efficacy score of nursing undergraduates was 3.12(2.88,3.59).The scores of three dimensions from high to low were cognitive level 3.40(3.00,3.80),competency 3.00(2.89,3.56),and self-confidence 3.00(2.50,3.33).And the mean scores of two dimensions of coping styles from high to low were negative coping style 3.50(3.05,4.00)and positive coping style 3.20(2.90,3.60).2.Whether to act as student cadres,English proficiency,monthly family income per person,family residence,whether to learn literature retrieval courses,the satisfaction degree for diversified teaching equipment,the adaptability and preference degree for diversified teaching methods,the cognition for rationalization degree of diversified teaching methods academic hours,the cognition for pressures of diversified teaching methods,the evaluation on diversified teaching methods,the number of searching for literature weekly under diversified teaching methods and the evaluation on Massive Open Online Course and Flipped Class Model had significant differences in the score of information literary(P<0.05).Whether to act as student cadres,whether to have scholarships,the satisfaction degree for diversified teaching equipment,the preference degree for diversified teaching methods,the cognition for rationalization degree of diversified teaching methods academic hours,and the evaluation on diversified teaching methods had significant differences in the score of coping self-efficacy and positive coping style(P<0.05).Whether to have scholarships,English proficiency and the rationalization degree for academic hours of diversified teaching methods had significant differences in the score of negative coping style(P<0.05).3.Correlation analysis showed that the total score of information literacy and its dimensions were positively correlated with the total scores of coping efficacy and its dimensions(P?0.01),and positively correlated with the score of positive coping style(P?0.05).4.The results of multivariate stepwise regression analysis showed that the monthly family income per person(>5000 yuan),the evaluation on diversified teaching methods(general,good,very good),learning literature retrieval courses,the identity of student cadres were predictive factors of information literacy(P<0.05).They explained 34.8% of the variation of information literacy(R2=0.348).Information literacy was the predictor of coping self-efficacy(P<0.05),explaining a total of 26.1% of variation of coping self-efficacy(R2=0.261).And information literacy was also a predictor of positive coping style(P<0.05),accounting for 10.4% of the variation of positive coping style(R2=0.104).The level of College English Test-4 and the cognition for rationalization degree of diversified teaching methods academic hours(unreasonable,general,reasonable,and very reasonable)were predictive factors of negative coping style(P<0.05),which explained 2.8% of variation(R2=0.028).Conclusion:1.Under the diversified teaching methods,the information literacy level of the nursing undergraduates should be further promoted,especially in the domain of information skills.The coping self-efficacy towards diversified teaching methods was at a moderate level.Nursing undergraduates had higher positive coping style level,but their negative coping style level needed to be further reduced.2.The higher the information literacy level of nursing undergraduates was,the higher the coping self-efficacy and positive coping style levels were.3.Monthly family income per person(>5000 yuan),the evaluation on diversified teaching methods(general,good,very good),learning literature retrieval courses and the identity of student cadres were the main factors to predict the level of information literacy of nursing undergraduates.In addition,information literacy positively predicted the coping self-efficacy and positive coping style of nursing undergraduates,which can provide references for nursing educators to develop information literacy education strategies,improve teaching effects,and further study the core literacy of nursing undergraduates.
