Objectives1.Define the concept of nursing home undergraduates’media literacy and connotation of media literacy education for nursing undergraduates.2.Clearly know the status of media literacy and media literacy education of nursing undergraduates in China as well as their requirement for media literacy education.3.Construct a theoretical model of elements of media literacy for nursing undergraduates in China and determine the content of media literacy education curriculum for nursing undergraduates.4.Construct the media literacy teaching model for the nursing undergraduates in China。Methods1.Define the concept of nursing home undergraduates’media literacy and connotation of media literacy education for nursing undergrads by using document analysis.2.Designed my own questionnaire on nursing undergraduates’media literacy and media literacy education. The questionnaire was used to assess the status and need of media literacy and education by the nursing undergraduates.3.Constructed a theoretical model of elements of media literacy for nursing undergraduates in China and determined the content of media literacy education curriculum for nursing undergraduates with Delphi method.4.Took the six elements of teaching model as theoretical framework, which is summed up by Professor Xia Huixian according to the domestic teaching practice, constructed the media literacy teaching model for the nursing undergraduates in China.Results1.The survey showed that98.3%of the students have cell phones, their motivation of contacting with the media was to exchange and communicate with the outside world (73.7%),they were more conce content of entertainment (77.7%) and social life (71.3%), for most nursing undergraduates (91.4%), the main way to access to information was the Internet.2.When facing the network explosive news, only49.4%of students would confirm the message. After3rounds of expert consultation, the average importance value of most items of nursing undergraduate curriculum questionnaire of media literacy education were all above4, the average importance value of majority of items in the elements of media literacy questionnaire for nursing undergraduates were more than3. This study went through3rounds of consultation, coefficient of variation of all items were lower than0.25, after testing Kendall’s W of items were significant,(P<0.05)5.The establishment of nursing undergraduates media literacy elements, including "4modules,12core elements" and the content of nursing undergraduates media literacy curriculum, including "5parts,16sections ".Conclusions1.At present most students focus more on the media entertainment function, they already have a certain ability to interpret and judge media information, but they are lack of proper ways and means to analysis media information.2.Nursing undergraduates’demand for media literacy education is high, so building a media literacy teaching model for nursing undergraduates has great practical guiding significance.3.The response rates of all3rounds expert consultation are high, the authority of experts is acceptable, experts’ advice concentrates and coordinates. All of these ensure the reliability of the results.4.Establish a theoretical model of media literacy elements for the nursing undergraduates, including "4modules,12core elements" and the content of nursing undergraduates media literacy curriculum, including "5parts,16sections ".
