ObjectiveTo understand the current situation of disease uncertainty, information need and coping style in patients with malignant tumors, analyze the influencing factors of disease uncertainty and information need, and explore the correlation between disease uncertainty and information need and coping style of malignant tumor patients. In the future,it is expected to develop targeted intervention strategies for medical staff, reduce the level of disease uncertainty of patients with malignant tumors, meet their information needs, guide them establish positive coping methods to provide reference, and further improve the quality of life of patients with malignant tumors.MethodsIn this study,The First Affiliated Hospital of Dali University(Department of Onclogy,Department of General Surgery,Department of Nail and Bredst Surgery),the Fist People’s Hospital of Dali City(Department of Onclogy),and the People’s Hospital of Dali Prefecture(Department of Onclogy)were selected as the investigation units.A total of 461 patients with malignant tumors(rectal cancer, colon cancer, stomach cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, liver cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, malignant melanoma, ect.)who were hospitalized from October 2022 to February2023 meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected by convenient sampling method were investigated by questionnaire. The questionnaire was composed of four parts:the self-developed general information questionnaire for patients with malignant tumors, the Chinese version of Mishel Disease Uncertainty Scale(MUIS-A),the Information Need Self-assessment Scales(INAS)and the Medical Coping Questionnaire(MCMQ).SPSS 27.0 statistics were used for statistical analysis of the survey data.Descriptive analysis was conducted using((?)±S),frequency and component ratio.Single factor analysis was conducted using t test and variance analysis,multi-factor analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression analysis, and correlation analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation coefficient.Results1.The total score of disease uncertainty of malignant tumor patients investigated in this study was(68.24±5.76),and the scores of each dimension were fuzzy dimension, lack of clarification and anpredictability dimension from high to low.2.The total score of the information needs of malignant tumor patients in this survey was(110.05±10.10),and the scores of each dimension from high to low were as follows:disease and treatment dimension, physical health dimension, mental health dimension, family health dimension and social health dimension.3.Through univariate analysis of the disease uncertainty of malignant tumor patients with general data, the factors with statistical significance were age, occupat ion, education, residence, monthly family income, whether they have children, disease diagnosis and disease course; In addition, univariate analysis of the information nee ds of malignant tumor patients with general data showed that the factors with st atistical significance were age, education level, occupation, medical payment method, drinking history, disease diagnosis, course of disease, type of treatment. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the age, occupation, education level, disease diagnosis and disease course of malignant tumor patients were the main factors affecting the disease uncertainty. The course of disease and the way of me dical payment of patients with malignant tumors are the main factors affecting th eir information needs.4.In this study, the scores of malignant tumor patients in the dimensions of face, avoidance and submission coping were all higher than those of the Chinese norm group, and the differences between them were statistically significant.5.In this study, the total scores of uncertainty in patients with malignant tumors was positively correlated with the total score of information need and scores of each dimension; In malignant tumor patients, the total score of disease uncertainty and the scores of each dimension were negatively correlated with facing and avoiding coping, but positively correlated with yielding coping.Conclusions1.The disease uncertainty of malignant tumor patients investigated in this stu-dy is at a relatively high level, which is mainly comes from the unpredictability of the development, outcome and prognosis of the disease.2.The results showed that the age, occupation, education level, residence, monthl y family income, children or not, disease diagnosis and disease course of patients with malignant tumors all had a certain influence on their disease uncertainty. The main influencing factors were:age, occupation, education level, disease diagnosis and disease course.3.The results showed that the information demand level of malignant tumor patients surveyed was also at a high level, among which the demond for inform ation related to diease and treatment is the greater.4.It is known from the research results that the age, education level, occupatio n,drinking history, medical payment method, disease diagnosis, course of disease a nd types of treatment of patients with malignant tumors had certain influences o n their information needs.Among them, the main influencing factors were: medical payment method and disease course.5.Compared with the Chinese norm group, the malignant tumor patients surveyed in this study had differences in the use of coping styles of facing, avoiding and yielding, and were all more than those in the Chinese norm group.6.The information needs of malignant tumor patients investigated in this study were positively correlated with disesse uncertainty;Patients who took confronting and avoiding coping styles had a lower sense of disease uncertainty, while patients who took yielding coping styles had a higher sense of disease uncertainty. |
