Medium And Long Term Results Of Dual Mobility Sockets Total Hip Ar-throplasty

Objective:Analysis of the medium and long term clinical and radiographic results of dual mobility sockets total hip ar-throplasty(THA)for hip disease.The incidence of loosening,osteolysis,abrasion and dislocation were mainly observed.Methods:From March 2007 to March 2013,68 patients(79 hips)were treated in our hospital with dual mobility sockets total hip replacement and followed up by telephone or clinic.Among them,36 males and 32 females;Left 43 hips,right 36 hips.The mean follow-up age of the patients was(61.56±6.24)years(range,36-75 years).The mean follow-up period was 8.6 years(range,5-11years).The preoperative diagnosis was Femoral neck fracture18 cases 18 hips.Femoral head necrosis 28 cases 33 hips.Natural hip dysplasia(DDH)and hip osteoarthritis in 14 cases with 19 hips;rheumatoid arthritis in 8 cases with 9 hips.The medium and long term clinical were evaluated by preoperative and postoperative(Harris score).Radiological analysis as performed with special attention on loose,osteolysis,wear and dislocation.Results:Postoperative 5-10 years(48 cases 56 hips).The average Harris score was increased from(30.45±12.07)to(94.30±2.66)in the final follow-up.Over 10 years after surgery(20patients had 23 hips).The average Harris score was increased from(31.59±11.46)to(93.79±2.77)in the final follow-up.At the end of the follow-up,1 hip(1.27%)had claudication,and 2 hips(2.53%)had thigh pain.None of these patients were found to be loose,the prosthesis of the femur sank and the bone dissolved.Conclusion:The dual mobility sockets total hip ar-throplasty is close to normal and its medium and long term curative effect satisfactory,with low prosthesis loosening rate,bone dissolution rate and dislocation rate after operation.
