| Objective This study aims to develop the medical college students network literacy questionnaire and verify its reliability and validity, describe the present situation of network media literacy survey among medical college students and analyze the influencing factors of low network media literacy. The ultimate goal is to provide theoretical reference for the network media literacy education, and thus promote the cultivation of network media literacy among medical college students. Methods This research is divided into two parts.Part One introduces the designing of the questionnaire. It started from the construction of draft question pool by adopting the method of document searching and semi-structured interview. Then, with the help of Delphi Method, these questions were refined through two-round consultations with 6experts from relevant fields involved.Based on this, the draft questionnaire formed.it was then used on 315 students from a medical college. After sifting by SPSS and a series analysis approaches including relevant coefficient analysis, discrimination analysis as well as the exploratory factor analysis, the final questionnaire came out.Its reliability and validity are also verified.Part Two analyzes the students’ network media qualities in medical colleges and the affecting factors. From November to December in2017,1008 students selected randomly from 2 medical colleges were tested online by the questionnaire.the results were collected by Sojump After a complete verification, these accurate data were analyzed by SPSS 21.0 and some statistical approaches involving Statistical Description,T-test,Variance Analysis,SNK method,Univariate and Multivariate non-conditional Logistic regression Analysis, etc.,from which the affecting factors leading to low qualities on media were presented. Results In Part One,26 questions were retained after the two-round consultations and then 6 more were deleted after relevant coefficient analysis and discrimination analysis. The 20 questions were used to do exploratory factor analysis. The common factors were extracted by Principal Component Analysis and Orthogonal rotation through Varimax. Then choose three those whose eigenvalue are greater than 1 as the final common factors. The accumulative variance contribution rate is 49.081%.The final questionnaire contains 3 common factors and 20 questions. The total Cronbarch α coefficient is 0.90.According to the analysis of the associated validity, the related coefficient is from 0.824 to 0.914,which means that the questionnaire has a good reliability and validity. In Part Two,the average score of those respondents is 77.22+ 10.31.the results from Multivariate non-conditional Logistic regression Analysis shows that the affecting factors contain the grades students are in,family conditions, online time, the age they started to get to the Internet and their performance in school. Those in higher grades who lives under worse family conditions and perform worse in school have lower qualities online.Compared to those who spend less than 2 hours online, people who spend more than 5 hours has lower qualities on the network media. And the students in high school perform worse online than the primary students. Conclusion The students’ qualities on network media in medical college still leave a lot to be desired. Thus the government, the college and the family are supposed to work together to take measures for improving medical college students’ qualities online and their abilities in acquiring, analyzing and making use of online information, which can better serve their future career. |
