As an important place for people to produce and live, the city is closely related to people's life. The development of the city also reflects the happiness of people's lives to a certain extent. With the continuous improvement of the level of urbanization, competition and benefits between cities have become more intense, which has a profound impact on human well-being.Central urban agglomerations in Liaoning are an important part of the Northeast Economic Zone and the Bohai Rim metropolitan area.Through the economic radiation and attraction of Shenyang,a core city, and a close relationship with the surrounding social and economic activities,a “regional economic community” is formed, which is the economy of Liaoning Province. The core area. However, with the development of economy, the development direction of each city is not the same, which has led to more intense competition among cities and a greater impact on people's production and life.Based on the basic theory of urban niche and the urban clusters in central Liaoning, this article combines the basic definitions of human well-being and selects 49 indicators that reflect the four dimensions of economy, resources, environment, and society that reflect the happiness of human life.Through the quantitative calculation of the urban niche, differentiation index and overlap index, the urban niche data of the urban clusters in central Liaoning from 2001 to2016 was finally obtained.Through this analysis and comparison, the following conclusions were drawn:(1)From 2001 to 2016,Shenyang City had the largest urban comprehensive niche in urban agglomerations, being 0.3121,and Liaoyang had the lowest comprehensive urban niche score of 0.0808,which was about 1/4 of that in Shenyang.Analyzed from each dimension,Shenyang has the largest comprehensive niche, the smallest new economic dimension, the smallest resource dimension Benxi, and the smallest environmental dimension and social dimension Liaoyang. It can be seen that the urban niche in central urban agglomerations in Liaoning has unbalanced characteristics, and the unbalanced development of each city has a certain impact on human well-being.(2)Through the calculation of the urban niche differentiation index,it is found that in the process of urban development, the social dimension has the largest impact factor, that is,the social service system of each city differs greatly;the environmental dimension has the smallest impact factor, indicating that the urban clusters in central Liaoning are developing.During the process, the environmental governance and protection of each city is relatively balanced, providing people with healthy production and living conditions, which is conducive to the development of human well-being.At the same time, the niche gap between the ecological dimension and the environmental dimension of the social dimension has gradually decreased, indicating that the spatial imbalance between social factors and environmental factors in the development of urban agglomerations has been improved, and the gap has gradually decreased.(3)Selecting the leading industries in 8 cities and using the niche overlap index for calculation and analysis,it was found that the niche overlap index between cities in central urban agglomerations in Liaoning is larger, indicating that the urban industrial structure is similar.Combined with actual findings, most of the urban clusters in central Liaoning are dominated by raw material-oriented industries.Consumption of resources at the same time will seriously pollute the ecological environment and adversely affect human well-being.
