Indolyl-substituted fulgimides,a very important derivative fulgide,are used for broad application with photochromic capabilities,thermal stability,hydrolytic stability and fatigue resistance.Through N-alkylation reaction,Vilesmeiler-Haack reaction,Stobbe condensation reaction,hydrolysis reaction and the dehydration reaction,fulgide was synthesized with 3-methyl indole and isopropylidene succinic acid diethyl ester.Two indoly-substituted fulgimideswere synthesized with fulgide and two different amine alcohols,conformed by 1H-NMR,13C-NMR,HR-MS.In this paper,Photochromic properties,stable performance,hydrolytic stability and resistance propertiesthe two indolyl-substituted fulgimides were measured with UV-visible absorption spectra.The fulgimides showed photochromic properties,thermal stability,hydrolytic stability,and resistance to fatigue performance.In an aprotic solvent,the two hydroxyl-substituted compounds showed good performance of photochromic properties,in a protic solvent,C-isomer can not be converted back to the E-isomer.
