This thesis consists of the following four parts:Part I:In this paper, the recent R&D in these aspects were reviewed, and the principles and requirements of zao dyes as recordable storing media and rewritable storing media have been described, respectively. The effects of the Spectroscopic, optical and thermal properties of azo dyes on the recoding characteristics were discussed. The future of research in these aspects were discussed also. This review concentrates on the types of polymer system and their photoisomerization, and its potential application as optical data storage.Pullulan is one of the new neutral water-soluble microbial polysaccharides that can be produced in large quantities by fermentation. Pullulan is a microbial polysaccharides that has very importance useness. The future of research in its application were discussed also.Part II: Pullulan production by Aureobasidium pullulan growing onpotato starch wastePullulan is a microbial polysaccharides that has very importance useness. It is widely accepted that the processed pullulan products and those of pulllulan derivatives have been studied and used in different fields.Potato starch wastes (PSW) is an byproduct from the starch industry. It is very common contain complicated nutritious elements. The study of using PSW as a carbon source can reduce the cost of production, increase productivity, and solve environmental problems that result from the disposal of potato starch wastes. The culture conditions were conducted by design of single factor experiments. The culture conditions were as follows:28°C,150r/min,intial pH=6.5,120h, PSW 10,KH2PO4 0.6,NC0.2,(NH4)2SO40.08.Part III: The synthesis and structural characterization of containingazobenzene PullulanThe graft copolymerization of vinyl monomers and Pullulan were carried out using K2S2O8—NaHSO3 as initiation system, sodium dodecyl benzene sulfate as emulsifier. The evidence and characterization of Pullulan copolymers has been researched by means of FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, thermograrimetry analysis (TGA)Part IV: The photoisomerization behavior of copolymers pullulan and vinyl monomer in solutions The photoisomerization of copolymers of vinyl monomer and Pullulan were investigated in solutions . The effects of spatial hindrance, solventwere investigated. The result showed that the structure of graft copolymers exhibit a remarked influence on photoisomerization. The smaller of the spatial hindrance is, the easier the photoisomerization will be, and copolymers manifest better photoisomerization than their corresponding monomers.
