Obejective:To describe the status of resilience,social support and coping style among family caregivers of patients with stroke and to analyze their relationships.To investigate the resilience's influencing factors of family caregivers,and to explore the mediating effect of resilience between social support and coping style.Methods:A cross-sectional design was used in this study.From April 2016 to December 2016,236 stroke patients and 236 family caregivers were selected by convenient sampling methods from 3 Grade A tertiary hospitals in Beijing.The instruments consisted of general information questionnaires,Barthel Index(BI),Connor Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ),Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS).The Excel software was used for managing data.Descriptive analysis,t-test,ANOVA,correlation analysis,and regression analysis were conducted by SPSS 22.0 software.Results:1.The average score of resilience of caregivers was(69.46± 12.29).The median score of active coping style and passive coping style in caregivers were 25.00(8.00)and 8.00(7.00).(37.96±8.19)was the average score of social support among caregivers.2.The Multiple linear regressions of resilience of family caregivers showed that sex,education level,working situation,care-giving hours per day,stress and active coping style were entered the regression equation model,which could explain 39.80%of the variance.3.Resilience had a positive correlation with active coping style of family caregivers(P<0.01),whereas a negative correlation with passive coping style(P<0.01).There was a positive correlation between social support and resilience(P<0.05).Social support also had a positive correlation with active coping style of family caregivers(P<0.05),whereas a negative correlation with passive coping style(P<0.05).4.Effect of social support on active and passive coping style of family caregivers of stroke patients was mediated by resilience and the mediating effect of resilience was 40.21%and 16.73%of the total effect.Conclusions:1.The level of resilience and social support of family caregivers of stroke patients were middle,which indicated family caregivers had certain ability to bounce back facing adversity and had more social support.The level of active coping style of family caregivers was middle,whereas the level of passive coping style was lower.2.The influencing factors of resilience of family caregivers of stroke patients included sex,education level,working situation,care-giving hours per day,stress and active coping style.3.The family caregivers of stroke patients who had high level of resilience and resilience tended to adopt active coping style.The higher degree of social support of family caregivers had,the higher level of resilience would be.4.Social Support could affect coping style of the family caregivers of stroke patients by mediating effect of resilience,which explained that the nursing service could strengthen the resilience which was an ability to bounce back facing setbacks by improving the level of social support,thus indirectly leading caregivers to make active cognition and behaviors.
