Glasses display device has been attracted much attention due to the rapid development of the technology in recent years.It has been widely used in various fields,such as entertainment,medicine,industrial production.However,there is no uniform evaluation methods and criteria for the performance of the glasses display device because the technology is still in the developing stage.The measurement method of the optical properties of the glasses display device was studied in this paper.EPSON Moverio BT-200 was employed to perform the research.According to the display principle of the device,the objective measurement experiment was designed to measure the luminance,contrast,color temperature and color gamut.The measurement results indicated that the maximum luminance was 568.4 cd/m2,the contrast was 211.32,the color temperature was between 8900 K-9300 K,and the color gamut coverage was 30.1%.In addition,the ability of color rendering was insufficient,which influenced the color saturation of the image.In order to validate the objective measurement results,the subjective measurement system was designed based on the color matching principle.Luminance and luminance uniformity of BT-200 were measured in further using the system.The subjective measurement system was consisted of backlight board,lamp and control module.It could generate the white light with certain color temperature and variable luminance by mixing the light of the backlight board and the lamp.During the subjective measurement experiment,the subjects were required to adjust the mixed light through the control module till the color of the mixed light was consistent with the color displayed in BT-200.Thus the performance parameters were obtained.The framework of subjective measurement system was set up and the software/hardware was designed in the research.The luminance and luminance uniformity of BT-200 were measured with different measurement patterns,including square,strip and circle.The results showed that the luminance measurement tolerance increased with increasing luminance level.The measurement patterns had no significant influence on the luminance and luminance uniformity.The subjective and objective measurement error of luminance increased with the increasing absolute value.The maximum error was less than 5%and the luminance uniformity of BT-200 was about 1.3%.The improvement of display performance of the glasses display devices directly determines its development prospect.The research on the measurement method of the optical properties of the glasses display devices in this paper could be beneficial to establish the standard method of evaluating the properties of the glasses display devices,and to optimize the products from the design and production,which promotes the further development of the glasses display devices.
