In recent years, China's railway technology obtained the rapid development, and is widely applied in practice, alleviating the urban traffic pressure, as well as promotes the city and related regional economic coordinated development. The DC Circuit Breaker is a key device of DC power supply protection system, and it plays an important role in the stable operation of the power supply system. At present, important progress has been made in DC circuit breaker technology, and its products have been applied in rail transit system, however, there is a long switching time which leads to the serious problem of short circuit burning, it needs further research.Combined with actual project, this paper studied the design and implementation of High-speed DC Circuit Breaker based on IGBT control, the main work is as follows:(1) according to the practical application of streetcar, we have designed system solutions, and have carried out parameter design and selection for the main device of inductance, IGBT and capacitance.(2) we have designed the High-speed DC Circuit Breaker based on IGBT control, mainly including the design of main circuit, auxiliary circuit, the hardware design and software design of microcomputer control system, solved the problem of the main circuit components parameters matching, the drive and protection of IGBT.(3) we have completed the platform of physical structures and the test verification for High-speed DC Circuit Breaker based on IGBT control, at the same time worked out the corresponding control system software. In this paper, the High-speed DC Circuit Breaker based on IGBT control, can not only make fast diagnosis and quickly protection for the short circuit of power supply system, but also short-circuit point from the power supply within 1 to 2 ms, thus it greatly reduce the short circuit current and its rise time, and reduce the arc energy, moreover, it can improve the service life of the electric power supply system main components.(4) we have completed the experimental prototype test of High-speed DC Circuit Breaker based on IGBT control, system alignment, test and verification, and successfully applied in the practical engineering.In this paper, the High-speed DC Circuit Breaker based on IGBT control has reached the advance design specifications, with characteristics of simple manipulation, reliable operation, quickly action and so on, it is suitable for electric power system and the application of rail transit traction power supply system.
