HDMI is a kind of widely used high-definition digital interface. It provides a high bandwidth, and can losslessly transmit digital audio and video signals with high speed. Since its introduction in 2002, HDMI's share in the global HD digital interface market has expanded rapidly. As a core technology of HDMI, HDCP is able to complete authentication and encryption of audio and video data, and ensure that high definition audio and video will not be illegally recorded when transmitted through HDMI interface. The main task of this paper is to design and implement the HDCP 2.2 receiver. Based on the research of HDMI protocol, HDCP 2.2 protocol and efficient hardware implementation of RSA, AES, SHA, HMAC encryption algorithm, this paper completes HDCP 2.2 receiver RTL design, function simulation and FPGA board level verification.In this paper, the protocol and algorithm associated with the HDCP 2.2 receiver is studied first. Then, the external interface and function requirements of the HDCP 2.2 receiver are analyzed, and the overall framework of the system is designed. Subsequently, each sub-module is designed in detail. At last, the design of the whole HDCP 2.2 receiver is completed, including encryption algorithm, authentication protocol and HDCP decryption. The HDCP 2.2 receiver successfully passes function simulation and FPGA verification, and the final decryption results are the same as the test vectors provided by HDCP 2.2 protocol. The results show that the design of this paper has reached the expected requirements of the project, provides protection for audio and video content transmitted through the HDMI interface, and completes the digital front-end design of the HDCP 2.2 receiver in HDMI.Based on the research of HDMI protocol, HDCP 2.2 protocol and RSA, AES, SHA, HMAC encryption algorithm, this paper provides a reference to the relevant scientific and technical personnel. The design ideas and methods of the HDCP 2.2 receiver can provide useful design experience for the designers of the HDCP system. At the same time, the HDCP 2.2 receiver can be used as a part of the relevant SoC design, or used as a tool for compatibility testing and logic verification.
