ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to translate the Emotion and Regulation Beliefs Scale(ERBS)into Chinese,and to examined the reliability,validity as well as its application in nursing students,analyzing the influencing factors and to improve the belief of emotion regulation.MethodsIn this study,610 nursing students from two universities in Liaoning Province were selected for the convenient sampling method.A demographic questionnaire,the Chinese version of the Emotion and Regulation Beliefs Scale and the Emotion Regulation Scale(ERS)were used for the study,using SPSS17.0 and AMOS17.0 software to analyze the data.Results1.General Information: In this study,610 questionnaires were recovered and 20 invalid questionnaires were excluded.The effective recovery rate was 96.72%.There were 66 boys and 524 girls.The age ranged from 17 to 26 years and the average age was(20.55±1.45).2.Reliability: The Cronbach's ? of the Chinese version scale was0.837,and the split-half Cronbach's ? was 0.710.The correlation coefficient of each item-to-total score was 0.405~0.634(P<0.05),and the ICC of each items of the scale ranged from 0.816 to 0.934.The test-retest reliability coefficient was is 0.923.3.Validity: In content validity,the I-CVI was between 0.83 and1.00.The S-CVI/UA was 0.81 and S-CVI/Ave was 0.97.In the construct validity,three common factors were obtained from exploratory factor analysis,and the cumulative contribution rate of variance was 47.966%.The confirmatory factor analysis showed that CMIN/DF was 2.805,GFI was 0.919,AGFI was 0.890,and RMR was0.048,RMSEA was 0.043.The discriminant validity was statistically analyzed using CR as the standard.The results showed that each item had good discrimination.The area under the ROC curve of the Chinese version of ERBS was 0.829(95%CI:0.785~0.872,P=0.000)and the sensitivity and specificity were 84.4% and 81.7%,respectively.4.Application: The survey results of the Chinese version of ERBS were that: the higher was 31.02%,and the lower was 68.98%.The emotion regulation beliefs of nursing students were influenced by gender,grade,whether they were only child,whether they were student leaders,whether they were satisfied with the major,the degree of adaptation to the university life and the academic record.Conclusions1.The Chinese version of ERBS had good reliability and validity,and it could be considered as an evaluation tool for emotion regulation beliefs of nursing students.2.The beliefs of nursing students were influenced by gender,grade,whether they were only child,whether they were student leaders,whether they were satisfied with the major,the degree of adaptation to the university life,the academic record and other factors.3.Most of the students' emotional regulation beliefs were at a low level.Students,teachers,parents and related personnel can formulate targeted measures according to the specific situation,in order to promote the improvement of students' beliefs of the emotion regulation.
