BackgroundIncorporation of evidence-based practice(EBP)into the nursing care delivery to provide better treatment outcomes for patients and improve the quality of care has been a worldwide priority for health care system. However, studies have shown that,to a certain extent, nurses are still guided by clinical experience in clinical nursing practice and decision-making,rather than based on the best evidence. As to promote absorption and implementation of best evidence in clinical settings, nurses should be provided with EBP education and training, which have become increasingly common and integral for nurse continuing education and academic curriculum. An initial assessment of competency using valid and reliable assessment tools can help better develop and implement targeted educational solutions. At present, the development of EBP assessment tools in foreign countries is relatively mature and applicable to a wide range of people. In contrast, there are relatively few domestic high-quality evidence-based nursing scales developed by Chinese or introduced from aboard.Further development, adaptation, and evaluation of new instruments to be applied to different conditions and specifics about work are needed. The Quick-EBP-VIK developed by Connor L can measure nurses' value, knowledge and implementation of EBP concisely and effectively, and has evidence of good reliability and validity. So far, there still lacks relevant reports on the use of the Quick-EBP-VIK survey.Objective1.Translate and adapt the Quick-EBP-VIK scale into Chinese version, and subsequently evaluate the reliability and validity of this version,so as to form the Chinese Quick-EBP-VIK scale that can be used in the cultural background of China.2.Investigate and evaluate the current situation of clinical nursing staffs evidence-based practice level using the Chinese version of the Quick-EBP-VIK,and analyze its main influencing factors,so as to provide reference basis for further intervention and promotion of nursing staff's evidence-based practice.3.Evaluate the training effect of a regional EBP training project using the Chinese version of the Quick-EBP-VIK.Contents and methods1.After obtaining the authorization of the original author and the intellectual property department of the hospital, the Quick-EBP-VIK was translated into Chinese. Then, the Chinese version of the scale was tested for reliability and validity through project analysis, content validity, structure validity, internal consistency and test-retest reliability.2.A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 608 clinical nursing staff in a tertiary hospital in Guangdong province using the Chinese version of Quick-EBP-VIK scale,to evaluate and analyze the status quo of EBP level of nursing staff and its main influencing factors.3.A survey was conducted on 23 nursing staff from a tertiary hospital in Guangdong province who participated in the regional EBP training program before the beginning of the program,at the end of the theoretical course, and after the completion of the project practice. And the scores of each dimension of the scale of nursing staff in different stages were compared.Results1.The Chinese version of the Quick-EBP-VIK contains 19 items. The ?-CVI for all items earned scores higher than 0.83.Three common factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis, which can explain 71.776%of the total variances. All items had factor loadings above 0.50.Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed that the fit indexes were good fit the 3-factor model. The Cronbach's coefficient is 0.888,0.921 and 0.905,respectively.Composite reliability is 0.876,0.907 and 0.918,respectively.The ICC of scale dimension was 0.569?0.882,and the ICC of items was 0.494?0.903.2.The average scores for the items of 608 nurses' value, knowledge and implementation of EBP were respectively 3.90±0.61,2.00±0.64,1.64±0.62.The five factors that EBP knowledge, participation in EBP projects, literature reading,EBP training and current work position enter into the multivariate regression equation, which can effectively explain the 47.0%variance of the EBP implementation score.3.At the end of the theoretical course, the scores of nursing staff in all dimensions were improved compared with those before the training, and the difference was statistically significant only in the knowledge dimension(P<0.01).After the completion of the project practice, the scores of value and implementation were higher than those at the end of the theoretical course, and the difference was statistically significant in the "implementation5,(P<0.05).In terms of knowledge, the score after the completion of project practice was lower than that at the end of the theoretical course(P<0.05).After the completion of project practice, scores of all dimensions of nursing staff were improved compared with those before the beginning of training, and the differences in knowledge and implementation dimensions were statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusions1.The Chinese version of the Quick-EBP-VIK has evidence of acceptable reliability and validity and can be used to measure value, knowledge, and implementation of EBP for Chinese nurses.2.At present, clinical nursing staff value EBP,but their knowledge level and implementation level of EBP still need to be improved. The main factors affecting the implementation level of EBP include:EBP knowledge, participation in EBP projects, literature reading,EBP training, current work position. The hospital should comprehensively grasp the factors that influence the implementation of EBP,and take targeted intervention countermeasures to improve EBP level of clinical nursing staff.3.This regional EBP training program improved nursing staff's value, knowledge, implementation level of EBP.It also further demonstrated the applicability of the Chinese version of the Quick-EBP-VIK and provided a reference for evaluating the effectiveness of evidence-based practice training for nursing staff.
