Orthodontic Treatment Of The Deep Overbite Malocclusion

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of open bite in the treatment of anterior teeth deep overbite.Methods: Class II average angle type selection of Orthodontics,the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Fujian Medical University from 2016.A case of deep overbite,female,11.Convex facial.coordination ratio.The relationship between molar distal,canine distal,anterior third degree deep overbite,third degree deep overjet;Spee curve depth,maxillary anterior region is scattered in space,upper and lower midline regularly,oral health in general.Comparison of cephalometric radiographs before treatment.Cephalometric analysis showed skeletal classⅠ,ANB normal,U1-SN the measured value is greater than the normal value,than the labial inclination of anterior teeth,U6-PP and L6-MP measured value is less than the normal value,which indicated that the eruption of posterior teeth was insufficient.The treatment methods for temporary non extraction treatment,the elongation to posterior open bite,the anterior teeth scattered in space to improve the adduction of upper anterior teeth.Using the physiological anchorage control(PASS)technique to align and level the teeth and close the gap,occlusal adjustment.Results: So far,a total of 10 months of the orthodontic treatment.Up to now,the anterior teeth overbite and overjet are reduced.X-ray cephalometric analysis showed that SNA decreased by 1.6 degrees,U1-SN decreased by a factor of 16,and U6-PP and L6-MP increased.The overbite of anterior teeth was normal and the soft tissue profile was more harmonious.Conclusions: In the case of deep overbite correction of teeth,the teeth elongation to open bite,through the application of open bite to maintain the archwire,achieved good therapeutic effect.
