Objective:To explore the distribution and characteristics of Heat-Toxicity Syndromes(HTS)at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia through theoretical literature research and clinical investigation,so as to provide a basis for Traditional Chines Medicine(TCM)diagnosis of HTS at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.Methods:Theoretical literature research:Review of the ancient TCM literatures and the modern medical research papers on HTS,to study its theory origin,pathogenesis,pathological nature and diagnosis.Clinical research:With reference to the basic of TCM dialectical theory,questionnaire on the TCM diagnostic criteria of HTS was generated,to survey the HTS dialectical classifications at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and observe the patient’s s HTS severity level.Results:A total of 60 HTS cases,dialectically divided into Wei-fen HTS(13.3%),Qi-fen HTS(66.7%),Ying-fen HTS(10.0%),Xue-fen HTS(10.0%).The average age of the patients is(42.79±13.11).with majority young people(18-44 years old)and middle-aged people(45-59 years old).The proportion of male and female patients was 1.00:1.14.The investigation results shown that all HTS patients had varying level of swelling and pain performance,different level of coated tongue would be appearing such as white,yellow,gray and black coated tongue,and ’yellow coated tongue’ is mostly appeared among all.Most of the HTS patients experienced fever,mild to moderate thirst,mild to moderate upset,mild to moderate bitter taste in the mouth,mild to moderate yellow urine,mild to moderate dry stool,and their tongue were red or crimson red or purple color.The rapid pulse of HTS patients was common,floating-rapid,soft-rapid,slippery-rapid,wiry-rapid and fine-rapid pulse also can be seen at HTS patients.Conclusion:The common dialectical classifications of HTS at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia including Wei-fen HTS,Qi-fen HTS,Ying-fen HTS and Xue-fen HTS,But the most common types are Wei-fen HTS and Qi-fen HTS.All HTS patients shown fever and tongue condition in different levels,the degree of fever is more common in medium heat and high heat,and the yellow coated tongue also common in HTS.The appearance of other symptoms is depending on the position where heat-toxicity evil stagnated,predominance of heat and toxin,as well as the severity of HTS condition.
