Objective: To investigate the relationship between the determination of glycated hemoglobin and iron deficiency anemia in Fujian Provincial Hospital. Methods: During the period of December 2011 to August 2015, collected 104 patients with iron deficiency anemia in Fujian Provincial Hospital. All selected study population were excluded from diabetes, impaired glucose tolerance, other types of anemia and other blood diseases. Select patients admitted to hospital without anemia, diabetes, abnormal glucose tolerance in the same period as a control group, a total of 112 cases. The patients were 104 cases of iron deficiency anemia as a group, each patient was collected fasting blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, red blood cell count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, serum iron, results ferritin and other indicators. The 112 patients without anemia as a group, were collected for each patient were collected fasting blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, red blood cell count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration of red blood cells results and other indicators. Comparison between the iron-deficiency anemia group and control group was used Mann-Whitey U test and K-S test.To compare the coincidence between Hb A1 c and the other examination indicators used the respectively Pearson correlation analysis. Results: HbA1c(5.86±0.50)of IDA group was higher than that(5.52±0.21)of control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). There is no linear relation between Hb A1 c in patients with deficiency anemia and fasting blood glucose, hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, serum iron and ferroprotein. There is a positive correlation between red blood cell count and Hb A1c(R 0.209,P<0.05).Conclusion:Increased hospital measured glycated hemoglobin levels associate with iron deficiency anemia.
