Stroke, also known as cerebral vascular accident, is an acute cerebral blood circulation disorder of the nervous system disease caused by cerebral artery stenosis, occlusion or rupture due to a variety of predisposing factors. With incidence, morbidity and high mortality, it does serious harm to the life and health of the patients and the quality of life, bringing a heavy medical, economic and social burden to the family and the society. According to WHO's report, stroke is the second leading cause of death in the world, the third largest cause of death in most developing countries, and the main cause of disability among the Americans. Stroke is a kind of behavior related disease, which has a great relationship between the unhealthy behavior and recurrence of stroke. Man's behavior is governed by his own knowledge and the faith in his heart. The purpose of this study is to reflect the older age groups in stroke prevention knowledge- belief-behavior and the current situation of medicine use, through the large sample survey to understand elderly health status, quality of life, blood lipid status, medication status, knowledge of pharmacy service status and stroke prevention knowledge- belief- behavior. In this paper, literature research method is used to research the present situation of stroke epidemiology in our country. Interview research method is also used to determine survey questionnaires on "survey on the knowledge of preventing cerebral stroke of older age groups – health belief – behavior and the medication”which were carried out among older age groups, and 830 valid questionnaires are made descriptive statistics analysis, mean comparison and single factor analysis with the help of IBM SPSS statistics 21.0. It describes the present situation of the 830 participants' life quality, preventing cerebral stroke – health belief– behavior and the medication, and the conclusions of the research are presented.Research shows that there are 830 participants from fifteen cities such as Shanghai, Luoyang, Tianjin, Xi'an,which has a wide region instead of the geographical constraints, and has a strong representative. The elderly population prevalence rate is high(710 cases, 85.5%) and the average number of illnesses is 1.90 +1.487; the life quality of elderly population is higher, the average value of EQ-5D(0.89490) and the average value of EQ-VAS(84.64) are at a higher level; the life quality of investigation objects EQ-5D scores is closely related to number of diseases, health behavior and regional distribution respectively(P <0.05); investigation objects' subjective self-health assessment value EQ-VAS is significantly related respectively with education degree, the average monthly income of the family, number of diseases, health behavior and regional distribution(P < 0.05). With the increase in the number of diseases, the life quality of participants scores lower, significant differences in the quality of life are presented in survey groups which are separated according to the number of diseases; differences in the quality of life are also significant in different regions with different prevention of stroke intervention degree. The higher the health behavior questionnaire score is, the higher life quality is of the participants. According to the score of health behaviors investigation objects are divided into three groups: high-risk group, middle-risk group and low-risk group, which have significant differences in EQ-5D values and EQ-VAS values. The elderly's attention to the rate of blood lipid health is high(90.2%), but carotid artery plaque screening rate(68.8%) is very low; the elderly prefer to use Chinese medicine(75.3%) and health products(70.4%) to prevent the occurrence of stroke; the demand of older age groups for pharmacy service is high and the ways are diversified, but the cognitive rate of pharmacist occupation is low; their knowledge of preventing cerebral stroke of older age groups – health belief – behavior is in the middle level, which needs to be improved. In order to reduce the incidence of cerebral apoplexy, improve the living quality of elderly population and to provide reference for the formulation of scientific prevention and treatment of cerebral stroke health service policy, this paper proposes the following countermeasures and suggestions: increase health propaganda, and popularize health knowledge; carry out extensive health behavior intervention, and advocate the concept of universal health; establish complete stroke risk factor screening system and follow-up system; improve pharmacists awareness, and prevent and treat cerebral stroke by combining doctors, pharmacists and nurses so as to improve the quality of life.
