Application Of Evm In The CCS Project Management

As the mankind concerns more on the global climate change, the CCS(Carbon Capture And Storage) industry comes into a rapid development. There are some limitations to control the schedule by comparing with the plan. The EVM(Earned Value Method) is such a valuable method providing the function.this study introduces EVM into the CCS project management and improve the ability for cost and schedule controlling in the process. In addition, the other purpose is make project team meet the requirements of international project management.This study introduces the development of CCS over the world. a system of EVM is established in the CCS project. Deviation analysis, performance index analysis and predicting cost and duration at completion are also finished, which proves EVM can be used in CCS project. The CPM is introduced because the EVM does not distinguish between the critical path and non-critical path which often misleads the project manager. In order to have a better control in cost, this paper also puts forward the method to predict the cost range at completion, and got a good result. the basic steps for using EVM in three kinds procurement activities are introduced, especially the method of measuring actual cost and Deviation analysis should be focused on.
