Wireless local area network is very suitable for the campus network. The terrain in school is more complex and campus usually has rockeries, lake and so on. It will not be enough if you just use the WiFi to build network. The wireless Mesh network is very suitable for this terrain. So, WiFi-Mesh, a branch of wireless local area network is formed. Wireless Mesh network is a new type of wireless network technology. It will extend wireless "hot spot" to wireless "hot space" with larger area coverage in traditional wireless local area network. One of the most important technologies in wireless Mesh network is the routing. There is no standard routing for wireless Mesh network at present, now mostly used is the improved routing protocol based on mobile Ad Hoc network routing protocol. This article investigates the characteristics of the specific terrain and sets up appropriate campus network according to the terrain feature based on the campus of Inner Mongolia University. The campus uses wired and wireless hybrid network and part of the area uses wireless Mesh network for networking. In addition, wireless module uses WiFi-Mesh networking. This article designs campus network traffic through simulating the real network traffic in a campus network, and implements different services for different data flow through the network quality of service. We should ensure that the business data flow could obtain the desired service levels according to their own features in campus network, such as the high real-time business has priority service. In this paper, the wireless Mesh network routing protocol is improved by AODV routing protocol with the load parameter combined with the characteristics of the campus network and wireless Mesh network. The network optimization and simulation are implemented in the OPNET simulation platform.
