Ad-Hoc network is a kind of wireless and mobile network developed in recent years. It has a dynamic and variable topology. Each node not only can move but can join or withdraw the network freely. It has a centric and infrastructure-less distributed mufti-hop structure, all nodes have an equal status and act as two roles-router and node itself. The network topology changes so frequent that traditional internet routing protocol can not meet their needs. Therefore routing protocols are always an important research field of Ad-Hoc network.First, this paper introduces the Mobile Ad-Hoc network status and development prospects of the Ad-Hoc network definition, the characteristics of the network and facing a series of problems.Second, on the basis of AODV and Clustering Algorithm, a new adaptive routing technology——AODV-AOW is put forward. Finally, two routing protocols——AODV and AODV-AOW are simulated and compared on the basis of needs of Ad-Hoc network communication. The OPNET Modeler software uses object-oriented modeling methods and graphical editor to reflect the actual network and the structure of the network and provides comprehensive support communications systems, and distributed system development environment. For instance, the AODV model includes network model, node model and process model. And then establish several different simulation scenarios to test AODV and AODV-AOW network performance. The performance of end-to-end delay and others have been selected under the different conditions. Then Point out the advantages and characteristics of two routing protocols including AODV and AODV-AOW in order to give the latter foundation the suitable of wireless propagation.
