Research On Improvement AODV Routing Protocol For Wireless Mesh Network

Wireless Mesh Network is a new type of wireless communication network,which possesses both the merits of wireless Ad-hoc Network and wireless Local Area Network.As a new kind of wireless access technology,recently,it has been widely used to many fields because of being the characteristic of easily deployment,flexible structure and high bandwidth and so on.However,not enough perfect such as routing and security,so that it should be deeply studied.This thesis mainly studied and improved the routing algorithms about WMN,discussed the structure characteristics and protocol standards of WMN,analyzed the properties,advantages and disadvantages of several typical routing protocols including DSR,DSDV,AODV and so on.Then,the principles of designing wireless mesh routing protocols are researched.Based on AODV protocol,an improved routing protocol is put forwarded.AODV protocol is an on-demand routing protocols,which exists a route discovery process before sending the data packet.However,MWN has its shortcomings including larger time delay,hop basing on routing not consider the channel interference and other factors.The main idea is:modifying packet format of AODV protocol,introducing another routing criterion,the re-design of the routing process,design the algorithm.The original packet format in the reserved field is 0,this improvement is to replace a field to a criterion,by providing this field,can be attached to the current node in the RREQ message destination node determination information,as determined according to the packet routing and forwarding,thereby to determine the location of the next hop node.Performing route design criteria for the multichannel Mesh network characteristics,the introduction of interference and channel switching criterion(DCC).Improved the workflow of routing protocols,judging by calculating the value of the new backup path,and design routing algorithms.At last,network simulation is done with the OPNET software.As a result,the indexes of delay,load and throughput are improved compare with AODV protocol.
