Ad Hoc Network is an autonomy system which is composed of a set of mobilenodes with wireless data transceiver devices, with the characteristics of multiple jumpy, temporary, and no centered. It is not dependent on the support of any fixed networkinfrastructure, having broad application prospects in the military operations, disasterrelief, personal communications, field expedition, and other fields. The RoutingProtocol of Ad Hoc Network has been one of the hot issues of researchers.Ad Hoc Network has a disadvantage of nodes energy limited, thus improving theefficiency of energy using becomes rather important. Research shows that the reactiverouting protocols are more adapt to the mobile Ad Hoc Network, in the existing routingprotocol the energy saving performance is the best. AODV protocol is one of the typicalreactive routing protocols, with a lot of advantages, such as a small amount ofcalculation, less resource consumption and low bandwidth. Energy factors are notconsidered, however, to a certain extent, reduces the practicability. This thesis proposed a kind of Energy Optimization RDD-AODV Routing Protocol, based on the improvement of the original AODV protocol, introducing the measures ofdelay forwarding mechanism, the hybrid approach, using multipath routing in order toachieve energy efficient load balancing, that is, the energy consumption as much aspossible to meet the minimum requirements and avoid the low energy nodes. Finally, using NS2tools analyzed the simulation of RDD-AODV protocol andAODV protocol. Results showed that the RDD-AODV protocol significantly prolongedthe lifetime of network, at the same time it had improvements in the packet deliveryratio and normalized routing overhead.
