Ad Hoc is a multi-hop networks. It consists of a group of mobile nodes with wirelesstransmitter-receiver set. Each node not only used as the host but also a route, and also can change atany time which caused from the changed network topology. So how to improve the reliability of therouting protocol and maintain the route timely is very important to the study for Ad Hoc networks. This thesis describes the research status and the development trends of Ad Hoc network, givesan overview of the Ad Hoc network, which includes the definition, features, architecture, andapplications of Ad Hoc network, compares with some of the routing protocols and elaborating thekey network technology. Through analyzing and comparing with some typical routing protocols ofthe Ad Hoc network, AODV protocol as an On-Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol hasbetter performance than others. The thesis describes AODV_BR agreement which based on AODV agreement. According tothe energy model and the remaining energy awareness, this thesis proposes a new improvedprotocol called E_AODV_BR, which is based on the remaining energy awareness. Theexperimental simulations show that E_AODV_BR protocol in the end-to-end packet transmissionrate, routing protocol overhead and the average end-to-end delay can perform better thanAODV_BR and AODV. E_AODV_BR routing protocol’s data transfer rate and average delay areobviously improved which is more adapt to the fast-moving network environment.
