Problems And Research About Typical Rural Character Reporting In The New Age

Typical reporting is still playing an important role in the new century; it reflects the spiritof modern times, the traditional virtues, noble character and strong sense of responsibility, etc.Advanced characters have been seen as the representatives of Chinese people, and they haveencouraged generations for years. Thus, it is significant for us to treat the changes anddevelopment of typical reporting correctly in this new age properly.This paper makes an analysis on a series of propaganda reports about Lin Xiuzhen, atypical rural character:Firstly, the general situation of typical reporting since this century is summed up, andtypical reporting, typical character propaganda, news types and literature types are alsodefined in this part. Lin Xiuzhen’s story is at the same time introduced.Based on the documents about Lin Xiuzhen, this paper makes an analysis on typicalreporting in the aspects of reporting time, writing styles, contents and reporting ways.It is found that the typical reporting about Lin has created some new reporting modelsand has made some achievements with adaption to the new requirements of times.The effect of typical character publicity is decreasing from the core of characters to theborder just as the questionnaires about communication effects have shown. People usuallyheld positive attitudes towards the necessity of typical character reporting. But nowadaystypical reporting can hardly cause a sensation as a result of diversification of the audiences,and its communication effect has been weakening.By deep rational thinking about the typical reports about Lin Xiuzhen, reasons for thedecrease are summed up. Firstly, there is shortage of typical rural characters; secondly,political natures are highlighted, which leads to patterned reports; thirdly, the publicityenvironment for typical reporting has deteriorated; fourthly, the mass culture has dispeled themoralization.Typical reporting has made great progress since the new century, and decrease of itspublicity effects does not deny this. Meanwhile, reasons for the decrease have been analyzedin order to achieve the best communication effects for typical character reporting.
