With the rapid development of economy and society, more and more migrant ruralworkers rush into the cities. Recently,it’s becoming a common phenomenon that they arewith their wife and children. The number of these children has increased dramatically.Their growth and education problems are increasingly prominent and it has become asocial problem which is unable to avoid. They live in the suburbs and their living space isnarrow. They are poor. The family learning environment of these children is not optimistic.Learning environment is critical to learning. It’s of great significance that the learners’environment can effectively promote their learning. The migrant children are of specialgroup, in addition to school education, family learning environment is one of the importantfactors that affect their learning. This research constructed the elements of learningenvironment of these children, and classified it into physical environment and socialhumanistic environment. They are learning space, learning information resource, parents’educational level,parents’ jobs, family economic income, family structure, relationship offamily members, learning atmosphere, parents’ expectations and supports, humanfactors(playmates and elders)and parental rearing pattern. This research chose the childrenof migrant rural workers from Tong’ an Central Primary School, SND, Suzhou as researchobject. By observation, interviews and questionnaire, we found the elements of learningenvironment which influenced the children of migrant rural workers include livingenvironment, learning information resource and instruments, parents’ educational level,parents’ jobs, their work strain, family economic income, learning time, the number ofchildren, parents’ relationship, communication, the role of playmates and elders,expectations and parental rearing pattern.According to the research, we also found that learning time, parents’ focus on theirchildren, and communication among family members have a great influence in learning.Parents’ educational levels, independent learning place, the choice of playmates, livingenvironment, material rewards, accompany and encouragements of parents, family income and expeatations have a certain influence in learning. The ability of communication, familystructure, the expectation of elders has little effect. At last, on the basis of the elementswhich influence the family learning environment, we provide some strategies andsuggestions to improve the environment of family learning.
