Childhood is a unique and extremely important stage in the life cycle, and children’s early development has significant and further influence on their whole life. Home Learning Environment, as the first learning environment children was exposed to, has a large effect on their early development. Lots of projects study on this in other countries, which prove that it has great influence on the early development of children. However, at present, there are still lack of related research in China.On the basis of existing research, this study compiles the "Children’s Home Learning Environment Questionnaire", which is as a tool for the investigation of 341 parents in Chengdu city. This study mainly includes the home culture resources, home learning activities and rich life experience. In order to further investigate the present situation of children’s home learning environment, I also have face-to-face interviews on five children’s parents. This study tries to put forward Suggestions of establishing high quality early family environment on the basis of existing problems and the causes analysis in Chengdu, so as to supply reference to improve the rationality of children’s home learning environment for parents.First, this study discusses the connotation of children’s home learning environment, mainly from the definition, constituent elements and designing principles these three aspects. It aims at providing theoretical guidance for the analysis of status and problems of children’s home learning environment. Children’s home learning environment is mainly composed of family culture resources, home learning activities and rich life experience. The creation of children’s home learning environment is a complex process, where five basic principles must be followed:education, diversity, proportionality, variability, and amenity.This study also attempts the differences comparison on children’s home learning environment in various backgrounds. The result shows that children’s home learning environment has significant differences in one, two, or three dimensions, such as household income, mother’s education level, father’s occupation, etc. Overall, the status of children’s home learning environment of Chengdu is good, but there are also problems of the following aspects:Home cultural resources without sufficient use; Lack of good home cultural atmosphere; Lack of good psychological environment; Home learning activities imbalance; Home learning activities are always behind the development of family cultural resources.Finally, the author gives rational suggestions based on children’s home learning environment problems and the cause analysis from society and family aspects. In one hand, government should support the creation of children’s home learning environment; communities provide convenience;kindergartens provide guidance.On the other hand, parents need to fully dig and use various learning resources, create a good family culture atmosphere and improve the quality of home learning activities.
