Objective This experiment adopts DC magnetron sputter ion technology on oral clinical implant-overdenture with ball attachment positive titanium surface to plate titanium nitride thin films, and the researchers are through conducting insertion-separation circulation on the fatigue test machine, and measuring retention forces after 10,100,300,600,1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 insertion-separation cycles, drawing retention force attenuation curve, using scanning electron microscopy to measure the wear of the ball attachments, to evaluate the wear resistance, corrosion resistance performance of the modified ball cap,in order to provide experiment foundation and theoretical basis of prolonging the service life of titanium ball attachment through the surface plating titanium nitride thin films. Methods 1.The 10 ball attachments were divided into the control and experimental group. Researchers used DC magnetron sputter ion technology to deposit layer about dozens of nano titanium nitride thin films on positive titanium ball surface of the experimental group. 2.All samples were subjected to 5,000 insertion-separation cycles on the fatigue test machine. Retention forces were measured after 10, 100, 300, 600, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 insertion-separation cycles, drawing retention force attenuation curve. 3.Data were analyzed to determine statistical equivalence among the two control group and experimental group attachments with the Student t test procedure(α =0.05). 4. Researchers observed the surface change of the positive titanium ball and negative scan elastic parts after the experiment with electron microscope. Results 1.Positive titanium balls surface looked like golden yellow after coating, surface grinding crack became not obvious, surface texture even under electron microscope. 2.The initial retainer force(10 times) had no obvious change of ball attachment before and after coating, there were no significant difference on statistics analysis(p= 0.068 >0.05). 3. Retention forces of plating titanium nitride film group were greater than the control group after 300,600,1000,2000,3000,4000,5000 cycles, the statistical analysis had significant difference. 4.Under electron microscope after fatigue test, the none-coating group was observed that original grinding marks disappeared, creating new grinding crack, coating group of original grinding crack had no obvious change, only the part of the grinding cracked fracture. 5.Through drawing the decay curve of retention force, researchers found that the retention force of the control group and experimental group were decreasing with increasing of cycles, retention fell rapidly in the first 600 cycles, retention force fell flat through 600 to 5000 cycles, the retention force difference between the two group became apparent. Conclusion 1.The experiment delayed the ball cap attachment retainer force attenuation speed, prolonged the ball cap attachment of clinical service life after depositing titanium nitride thin film on the surface of ball cap attachment. 2.The retainer force attenuation curve showed that attenuation of the ball cap attachment had certain relevance with the use of overdenture, which had certain guiding significance on clinical use. 3.The experiment showed that plating titanium nitride thin film improved adhesion wear resistance performance of positive titanium ball under the electron microscope scanning, the O ring wear change was relatively small.
