Objective:To analyze the masticatory ability and satisfaction of conventional mandibular overdenturs and mandibular overdentures retained with ball-cap atta-chment, and to kown the change of implant-retained mandibular overdenture in the aspect of masticatory ability. To provide evidence for the treatment and study of implant-retained mandibular overdenture with ball-cap attachment. Method:12 mandibular overdentures each with 2 implants were retained with 2 ball-cap atta-chments.The conventional mandibular overdentures were fabricated after the implants had planted for 2 weeks, and after 3 months,12 subjects were investigated by using the patient denture satisfaction questionnaire and masticatory ability, and then ball-cap attachments were placed.3 months later,12 subjects were investigated by using the patient denture satisfaction questionnaire and masticatory ability to kown the situation of satisfaction and mastication. Results:The patients were much more statisfied with stability comfortablity and mastication of complete overdentures supported by implants than them with the conventional overdentures. For the implant overdentures connected by ball-cap attachments, the masticatory eficiency of the overdentures used for 3 month are higher than that of the conventional overdentures. There was significant difference on masticatory effciency and satisfaction questionnaire between the two kinds of dentures (P <0.05). Conclusion:The clinical effects of mandibular overdentures retained with ball-cap attachment are well. |
