Clinical Case Report And Analysis Of Magnetic Attachment Denture

Objective:To observe the effect of magnetic attachment denture in repairing defect and missing dentition.Methods:We selected 10 patients who received the treatment of magnetic attachment denture in Dalian Stomatological Hospital affiliated to Dalian Medical University.From July 2015 to September 2016.There were 1 males and 9 females.Their age ranged from 50 to 90 years with an average age of 72 years.All patients were dentition defects,while retaining different numbers of remaining teeth being residual roots and residual crowns.teeth were less than two degrees loose.after a perfect periodontal treatment of teeth.A total of 19 Magfit magnetic attachments were set up in 10 patients.MagfitMD800 magnetic attachment set the number of 10 and MagfitEX600 magnetic attachment set the number of 9.We had a total of 12 pieces of magnetic attachment dentures.including 5 pieces of complete overdentures.6 pieces of removable partial dentures and 1 piece of maxillary repair denture.Before repair,we asked whether the patient had a history of allergies.systemic disease.Oral examination of temporomandibular joint and opening degree whether were no abnormalities.We had a detailed analysis of the specific circumstances of the patient's mouth.Through imaging assistance to check the patient's oral cavity to understand the remaining dental health status.Actively communicated with the patient and informed the patient the treatment.the process and the required costs.The patient informed consent,and finally to determine the treatment program.In the repair,the patient after 2 weeks of root canal therapy,the tooth were no percussion and no discomfort.We cut the crown of the tooth or root at the level of the gum,at the same time to prepare the base tooth and root canal.We made the pile pattern.The armature wax type completely covered the root surface.The portion of the armature above the root surface formed an obtuse angle,and EX 600 or MD 800 magnetic attachments were selected according to the size of the root surface.The Ni-Cr alloy were cast and polished and fixed in the root canal with a Fuji adhesive.The magnet were fixed to the surface of the armature,and then we made the final impression,We made a complete denture or removable partial denture.Eight patients with 10 dentures opted for use with a vitamin stent or titanium stent.Before the adhesive magnet,the patient tried to denture for 2 weeks without discomfort,and adhered magnet with self-setting plastic.Self-setting plastic solid,polished.We completed denture repair.The patient came to the hospital for review after 6 months.We evaluated the effectiveness of the treatment and the use of the denture by assessing the chewing function,stability,aesthetics,comfort,language function and the overall satisfaction of the denture.By examining the integrity of the denture,the periodontal condition,the presence of caries and mucosal tenderness,we made an objective clinical evaluation.Results:All patients had removable partial denture repair experiences.After 6 months of magnet fixation,the satisfaction of the ten patients with the chewing function of the denture was higher than the satisfaction of the magnet before sticking.After 6 months of magnet fixation,the patients,satisfaction with denture stability,aesthetics,comfort,language function and denture overall were higher.Twelve dentures had a satisfied clinical repair effect.They met the requirements of all patients.Twelve dentures did not have bad denture retention force,armature falling off,secondary caries,abutment loosening,denture break,denture movement and gingivitis and other undesirable phenomena.Conclusions:The magnetic attachment denture has a good clinical repair effect on the repair of defective dentition.Magnetic attachment dentures significantly increase the retention force of the denture,improve stability and improve the aesthetics and comfort.In the appropriate case,the magnetic attachment denture is a better choice.
