Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of a prescription which is based on the method of promoting blood circulation and the liver to treat Qi stagnation and blood stasis type of stable angina pectoris with depression.Method: Select 60 patients who were cases of stable angina pectoris with depression. They were randomly divided into control and treatment groups, one group of 30 cases. The control groups received a conventional treatment medicine, at the same time, the treatment groups received the same conventional treatment medicine and an extra traditional Chinese medicine. The course of treatment was 4 weeks.Result: 1) After treatment, TCM syndrome is improved, and the scores are tested by t, in which P <0.05, a statistically significant. In terms of the efficacy of TCM syndrome, the total effective rate is 70.0% in treatment groups while 43.3% in control groups. By ?2test, in which P <0.05, there are significant differences. 2)The chest pain symptoms are better in the two groups. By t test, P <0.01, there is significant difference. The total effective rate is 76.7% in treatment groups while 53.3% in control groups. By ?2 test, P<0.05, they have significant differences. 3) Depressive symptoms are improved in both of them. HAMD scores have significant differences upon t test, in which P <0.05. The total effective rate is 100% in treatment groups while 80.3% in control groups. By ?2 test, P <0.05, significant differences exist. 4) The efficacy of ECG is better. The total effective rate is 83.3% in treatment groups while 80.0% in control groups. By ?2 test, P >0.05, there is no difference.Conclusion: The prescription which is based on the method of promoting blood circulation and the liver is effective in the treatment Qi stagnation and blood stasis type of stable angina pectoris with depression, TCM syndrome, depressive symptoms. In a word, a prescription which is based on the method of promoting blood circulation and the liver to treat Qi stagnation and blood stasis type of stable angina pectoris with depression. The prescription can take the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine effectively.
