Objective:To investigate clinical significances of SEP of PSD patients and plasma 5-HT to provide reference for PSD patients.Methods:35 cases of stroke patients are divided into simple stroke group (B group, n=19) and PSD group (C group, n=17). It applies Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) to judge depression degree. In addition a normal control group (A group, n=12) is designed. It tests the incubation and amplitude of N9, N13 and N20 of SEP of three groups and judges the degree of brain’s neurological impairment. It tests 5-HT contents in plasma of each group, compares and analyzes SEP of three groups and 5-HT contents.Results:1. In median nerve determination, the abnormal rate of incubation and amplitude of N20 in stroke patients and PSD patients is higher than that of normal human beings (P <0.05);2.5-HT contents of plasma in PSD group are obviously lower than that of normal control group or stroke group. It is obvious in difference and has statistical significance (P<0.05);3. HAMD score of PSD has positive correlation to N20 incubation and has negative correlation to N20 amplitude and has no correlation to N9 amplitude, N9 incubation, N13 amplitude, N13 incubation and N20 amplitude;4. HAMD score in PSD group has negative correlation to 5-HT contents in plasma. Conclusion:It concludes that 5-HT contents in plasma of PSD patients are obviously lower than that of normal human beings or stroke patients; and in median nerve determination, the abnormal rate of amplitude and incubation of N20 in PSD patients and stroke patients is obviously higher than that of normal group. Testing SEP of PSD patients and 5-HT contents in plasma will provide better and more accurate diagnosis for PSD.
