The Relationship Between The Medical Category Changes Of Chinese Library Classification And Medical Development

The Chinese Library Classification is the logical partition and system frame library classification scheme, which based on scientific classification and knowledge classification, and also combining with the content and some physical characteristics of literature. It is a tool for classify literature, organize literature, classification arrangement, and compile the classification retrieval system. At present, the new technology and method is constantly emerging, the interaction between subjects is increasingly prominent, and the subject development and literature volume change rapidly. Due to the revision of the Chinese Library Classification should be taken into consideration factors such as subject maturity, the medical category lags behind the development of medicine, but reflects the development of medicine overall.Many studies about the medical category at present, but there are few researches about the relationship between the change of medical category and medical development. The study intend to introduce the definition, guiding ideology, system structure, revision etc; review the research status of medical category by network and literature investigation; know about the forming process of medical knowledge system and medical literature classification system, and analyze the relationship between the change of R category and medical development; taking Preventive Medicine and Public health category as the example and conduct a empirical study:(1)sorting the R category’s change in new category, specification for category and revision notes by quantitative statistics method, and comprehensively analyze the reason and meaning of the category change; (2) choosing the representative category, and explore the relationship between the change of medical category and medical development through three aspects that are subject development, the amount of literature and the research hotspots by scientometrics and comparative analysis approach etc. Finally, combining the results puts forward some revision suggestions of the Chinese Library Classification:pay more attention to the subject development history background analysis, apply quantitative method to improve the category system, increase the frequency of the revision and shorten the lag, enhance the application of Chinese Library Classification in organizing the network information resources, and to strengthen the construction of information organization professional talent team etc.The study explores the relationship between the medical category’s change of the Chinese Library Classification and medical development, hoping to give inspiration to professionals in revising the Chinese Library Classification.
