| Traditional medicine takes empiric medicine as the dominant factor, which is according to their knowledge practice, the intuition and the help of examination of medical equipment, the clinicians diagnose and treat patient. In the 1990's, EBM emerged from clinical medicine on the based of evidence. Professor David Sackett give a definition to EBM, that is means the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of the best available external clinical evidence, combine integrate individual clinical experience and patient's aspirations in making decisions about the care of individual patients. Cotemporary medicine mode emphasizes both experience and evidence, on the base of collecting the case history and physical examination, asking doctor to use of current best evidence to solve the clinical problems by evidence, lay down preventive and treat measure by searching and reviewing documents effectively and founding and using current best evidence. EBM makes still great demands on medical information work, and has great dependence to it.This paper will use the methods of logic derivation, clinical case analysis, and statistical data to analysis the current status of medical information, set forth the relationship between medical information and EMB, how to meet challenges, and propose possible solutions to strengthen the medical information work.At first, the paper pointed out the existing problems in current medical information work, include:1) Owing to the outmoded service thought and passive service, medical information can not satisfied the needs of clinicians.2) Be short of funds, medical information can not justice to its information function.3) Be short of professional personnel of information.4) Searching work of medical information are not satisfied the needs of contemporary medicine.At the same time, on the basis of the investigation to the clinicians in our hospital, pointed out the following problems:1) The busy clinical task is the main factor to influence doctors to search evidence.2) Not understand how to search evidence.3) Be short of clinical research evidence in domestic and most of them are fromabroad, existing language barrier when they search on the internet.4) Most of the knowledge are from textbook which are obsolete and cannot satisfy the needs of the doctors.On the base of analysis the status of information, the paper makes further statement on the connections between EBM and medical information. It points out the connections between EBM and medical information, both of them are dependent each other, infiltration into each other, influent on each other, and promoted each other. Firstly, EBM research provides objective needs and wide information resources to the development of medical information. Secondly, medical information provides timely, explicit and reliable evidence to the deep research of EBM. To do the research work, it needs at least three conditions as follows: (1) to have experienced doctors; (2) to search all the documents; (3) to design, review and select the connected information according to the clinical epidemiology. Among them, it is nuclear and key point whether the medical information is timely and explicit or not, whether the medical evidence is scientific and reliable or not. At present, one of the largest challenges for medical information on internet is how to utilize the information on internet to help clinicians to get evidence and carry out EBM. It includes: 1) To help to search evidence; 2) To distinguish, systematize, translate and edit evidence; 3) To participate the work of Cochrane cooperation net; 4) To set up specialcase diagnosis platform.
