ObjectiveWe combined the Theory of "Preventive Treatment of Disease" of TCM with the way to keep in good health to guide healthy management of patients with knee osteoarthritis. Based on the characteristics of South of the Five Ridges’ region, climate and culture, according to the features of its manifold diseases and different risk factors, then formulated personalized healthy management program, evaluated the effects of healthy management on quality of life in patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA), bone pain and joint function, disease cognition, and to analyze the compliance and influencing factors of patients’healthy management, and put forward the corresponding solution measures. Preliminaryly explore the healthy management model of South of the Five Ridges area in patients with knee osteoarthritis.MethodsAccording to diagnostic criteria for osteoarthritis of knee the American College of Rheumatology 1995, excluding some patients with severe medical disorders and infectious diseases, the author recruited 146 patients with KOA from Department of er sha orthopedics of Guangdong Province Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital (outpatient, inpatient department), the Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital of buoluo country and somecommunities from 2013 December to 2014 December. Based on their age and gender, the patients were divided into menopause osteoarthritis of the knee group and senile group, which were guided under "preventive treatment of disease" under the guidance of the thought of health management project for a period of 6 months. Respectively 1W (baseline-bl),4W,12W,24W conduct when VAS visual analog, SF-36 quality of life, WOMAC index joint assessment in 1W (b1) and 12W respectively KOA patient assessment of disease awareness. Analysis and evaluation of the two groups in VAS, SF-36, WOMAC and disease awareness of aspects of the change, as well as scores change into all KOA health management of patients before and after. According to whether the patient can be completed in June of health management programs for criteria:those completed are for good compliance; those unfinished or dropout sare poor compliance, and then make further analyzation.ResultsAll KOA patients with health management before and after, VAS, SF-36, WOMAC, knee arthritis patients with relatively awareness, Pvalues were 0.000 (<0.05) were statistically significant; menopause and old age patients KOA between VAS, SF-36 and WOMAC scores P values were 0.516,0.987 and 0.970 (> 0.05), which is of no statistical significance. Analysis of patient-related factors affect KOA, related factors and health management process compliance logisitic regression analysis of different culturaland psychological anxiety levels in patients with two factors,P value were 0.007,0.023 (<0.05) with a statistical significance. And family factors, such as whether to participate in, P value is 0.066(> 0.05), which is of no statistical significance.ConclusionsUnder the guidance of the Theory of "Preventive Treatment of Disease" of TCM with the way to keep in good health, KOA health management can significantly reduce in patients with joint pain, improve joint function, the awareness of the disease and quality of life; menopause patients. There are no statisticalsignificance in the effect of health management for the elderly patients. The patients’educational level and anxiety are two factors that affect its health compliance. The higher the educational level, the better the health management compliance is. The more powerful the anxiety is, the worse the health management compliance is.
