Background:Knee osteoarthritis is a common chronic disease in middle-aged and elderly People. The patients will suffer from knee pain, swelling, stiffness and other symptoms. In the late stage, knee joint deformity occurs, and they lose their function,so they have to be treated by surgery. The etiology of knee osteoarthritis is not clear, but it is related to mechanical factors, biological factors, synovitis, gene and other factors. At present, the treatment of KOA at home and abroad mainly relieves symptoms, delays cartilage degeneration and reduces the occurrence of deformities, but the effect is unsatisfactory, and the symptoms recur repeatedly. Moreover, the health management of knee osteoarthritis in China only stays on health education, and the management mode is single. Therefore,it is of great significance to explore KOA health management model and its efficacy. Objective:To establish a KOA "Three-Part synthesis"health management model(health education, weight management and medical management)by combining the "Preventive treatment"theory with chronic disease management. The model would be applied to the health management of clinical KOA Patients.By evaluating Patients’ disease awareness, clinical symptoms, quality of life and weight improvement, the overall health management effect was evaluated, which confirmed that the "Three-Part synthesis" knee osteoarthritis health management method was effective in clinical implementation and Promoted further clinical application. Methods:The 80 patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into management group and control group,40 cases in each group. The management group was combined with health management on the basis of basic treatment, while the control group was only given basic treatment. The study time was 12 weeks. The improvement of patients’ disease cognition was assessed by observing the disease cognition score before and after 12 weeks;the improvement of patients’ clinical symptoms was assessed by observing the clinical symptoms score, visual analogue score(VAS)and osteoarthritis index score(WOMAC);the improvement of patients’ quality of life was assessed by observing the health questionnaire score(SF-36);and the change of BMI value was evaluated by statistical analysis to analysis the effect of weight loss;to evaluate the overall effect of health management by evaluating patients’ disease awareness, clinical symptoms, quality of life and weight improvement. Results:After 12 weeks of treatment, the disease recognition score and SF-36 score of the two groups increased, with statistical significance(P<0.05),VAS score,WOMAC score and clinical symptoms score decreased, with statistical significance(P<0.05),BMI value of the management group decreased, with statistical significance(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between the control group and the control group(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the disease cognitive score and SF-36 score in the management group increased more significantly, with statistical significance(P<0.05),VAS score,WOMAC score and clinical symptoms score decreased more significantly(P<0.05),BMI value decreased more significantly, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:Basic treatment combined with "Three-Part synthesis" health management can significantly improve the patients’ disease awareness;basic treatment combined with"Three-Part synthesis"health management can significantly better alleviate the symptoms of joint pain and stiffness, reduce the difficulty of daily life and control the condition of patients;the quality of life of Patients with knee osteoarthritis is lower than that of the general population.Basic treatment combined with health management can significantly improve the quality of life of patients;basic treatment combined with health management can guide patients to lose weight.
