Objective:To preliminarily summarize and evaluate the clinical effects and safety of Modified Tianma Wendan decoction and auricular pressur in the treatment of senile Primary hypertension and further discuss the mechanisms of its functions to provide certain scientific basis for the treatment of senile primary hypertension.Methods:90 cases of inpatients with senile Primary hypertension(phlegm Turbidity Obstructing in midst) were selected from Geriatrics Department and Cardiopulmonary Department,Yunnan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Jan 1,2014 to Jan 1,2015 and divided into three groups with 30 cases of each Statistically randomly contrast method, namely Western medicine control group(Hereinafter referred to as the "control group"),Combine of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine treatment group A(Hereinafter referred to as the "treatment group A") and Combine of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine treatment group B(Hereinafter referred to as the "treatment group B").There are no significant differences of three groups in body mass index, age, gender, medical history and general information. The patients in Control group took Irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide tablet(each containing 150 mg Irbesartan and 12.5 mg hydrochlorothiazide) orally once a day.The patients in treatment group A were treated with Modified Tianma Wendan decoction on the basis of Oral the above western medicine. The patients in treatment group B were treated with auricular pressur on the basis of treatment group A.All these patients were observed with blood pressure,Chinese medical syndromes, blood lipid level, blood sugar and hemodynamic changes before and after treatment of all patients.Related data were statistically analyzed afterwards and summary.Results:①The total effective rate of blood pressure was 63.33% in the control group while 83.33% in the treatment group A and 86.67% in the treatment group B.The treatment group A and the treatment group B ware statistically significant different respectively when compared with the control group in blood pressure effect(P<0.05).The treatment groups A was no statistically significant different respectively when compared with the treatment groups B in blood pressure effect(P>0.05).②The total curative effect in Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome was 66.67% in the control group,93.33% in the treatment group A and 100.00% in the treatment group B separately. There are significant differences for respectively comparison between three groups(P<0.05).③A significant decrease of systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, pulse pressure, pulse pressure index was observed in three groups after treatment(P<0.05).The treatment group A and the treatment group B ware statistically significant different respectively when compared with the control group in systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and pulse pressure(P<0.05).The treatment groups A was no statistically significant different respectively when compared with the treatment groups B in systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and pulse pressure(P>0.05).There was no significant difference among three groups in pulse pressure index(P>0.05).④No significant decrease in blood sugar, blood lipid level and hemodynamic changes was observed in the control group after treatment(P>0.05).The significant decreases in blood sugar,TC,TG,LDL-C and hemodynamic changes were observed between the two treatment groups(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two treatment groups(P>0.05).⑤In the study of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms and the symptoms total score, the treatment of control group coould improve vertigo, headache, heavy head, choking sensation in chest(P<0.05).The treatment in two treatment groups could improve the main symptoms and secondary disease(P<0.05).The total symptom score and symptom in two treatment groups were improved better than the control group(P<0.05).The treatment group B was better than the treatment group A in improving the dizziness, headache and total symptoms score(P<0.05).⑥Significant decreases of all indexes of ambulatory blood pressure in Dynamic Blood Pressure were observed in three groups after treatment(P<0.05).The values of the two treatment groups were statistically significantly different when compared with the control group in decreased indexes of ambulatory blood pressure respectively(P<0.05).The values of the treatment group A was no significantly different when compared with the treatment group B in decreased indexes of ambulatory blood pressure respectively(P>0.05).⑦No obvious adverse reactions and adverse events in the three groups treatment course were observed by the examination of blood, urine, stool routine and fecal occult blood test, liver and kidney function, electrocardiogram before and after treatment with no significant difference among three groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The treatment effects of Modified Tianma Wendan decoction combination with auricular pressur are satisfactory in senile Primary hypertension patients(phlegm Turbidity Obstructing in midst) and no adverse reaction was observed during the treatment.
