Investigation On The State Of Denture Cleanliness Among Removable Denture Wearers In Urumqi

Objective:Based on the investigation on removable denture wearers from different levels hospitals in Urumqi,to analyse the wearer’s denture cleaning status in cities of Urumqi and the cognition of the wearer about denture cleanliness and the educational degree about denture cleanliness, which to compare the influence of various factors to the denture cleanliness.At last to improve denture cleaning education contents and methods, improve the effect of the wearer’s denture care and strengthen the wearer’s oral health.Methods:Through randomizing method,240removable denture wearers from Stomatology Department of different levels of hospitals are selected, whose oral health status, denture usage condition, denture cleaning status, etc. are examined, at the same time, their oral health cognisance and denture cleaning cognisance, etc. are surveyed via questionnaire. After getting relevant data, statistical method is used to analyze them, therein, the inspection level is set as:α=0.05. Results:In the study, for the cleaning degree of denture wearers from Stomatology Department of hospitals in Urumqi, there is no statistically significant difference between men and women; Han Nationality is better than Uygur; the older the people is, the poorer the cleaning degree of denture is. Overall anomaly detection rate of the oral mucosa is21.9%, the detectable rate of denture stomatitis is11.2%, and these two kinds of rates of men are lower than those of women; there is no significant statistical difference between Han Nationality and Uygur; the older the people is, the higher the anomaly detection rate is. The57.2%of wearers can be "satisfied" or "more satisfied" with the cleaning degree of current wearing denture. In the survey of denture storage, only14.4%dentures are soaked with denture cleansing tablet. Denture service time, wearer age, smoking, drinking and drinking tea are risk factors for denture cleaning; and denture wearers with higher education level can have better cleaning degree of denture. Over90%of denture wearers can only accept the denture cleaning fee lower than100Yuan. Conclusion:In Urumqi, the denture cleaning status of removable denture wearers is not good, and the knowledge of oral health and denture cleaning degree is lacked, so it is necessary to strengthen related oral health education for denture wearers, popularize the knowledge of denture cleaning, and promote the use of denture cleanser.
