Social Work Intervention To Explore Adolescents With Autism

Recently, with the economic growing and changing swiftly, our country isgradually becoming prosperous and strong, but there exist opportunity and challengein the meantime. There are many social problems due to the overly rapid developmentand inharmonious factors. Of the problem groups, adolescent and child groups whoare growing physically and mentally should be more focused on by the public,especially those who are not normal in physics or mental, because of their plasticity,particularity and immaturity.During the practice in Shenzhen City, I met a typical adolescent case with autismin the community. In the process, I mainly worked by combining case work and groupwork, tried applying social work practice to treat him, and made some breakthroughs.The thesis which is based on a typical case tries working from social work theory andpractice and combines case work and group work together. And it applies playtherapy to establish social recognition and harmonize community resources. For thoseadolescent cases of autism, I attempt to use professional social work methods to treatthe autism to prove the application of social work theory and social work practicaltreatment for the adolescents with autism. In the meantime, I also hope this case canarouse society’s understanding, support and help to the cases with autism and give theadolescents and children with autism a better growing environment and treatmentopportunity to promote social security system to develop better and faster.
