The utilization rate of arid plain reservoirs is generally about45%, such as in Xinjiang, the annual lossof water of plain water reservoir is about34.1×108m3, it will produce a huge economic and social benefitsby using seepage and evaporation prevention measures to save this part of water.This paper aim at theproblem of the arid central plains reservoirs’ big invalid evaporation loss, to find and develop a durablesteel sandwich panel, benzene board composite wall panels, reinforced composite floating panels andcarbon fiber reinforced composite material floating panels, to prevent or reduce the reservoir waterevaporation losses by using the engineering measures of making it float on the top of water, thus greatlysave water. The results show that:(1) The color steel sandwich panel light, not hydrophilic and acid resistance. It can withstand six leveland below the six level wind damage, in the case of more than six wind, the floating plate bending damageoccurs, and because the density waves easily be scraped off the surface. Long-term trial found a large areaof the surface layer and the inner layer of galvanized steel sandwich panels off benzene, material failure.(2) The density of benzene board composite wall panels is moderate, the surface layer is concretestructure, and there are steel mesh, alkali glass fiber reinforced sand, inner is light benzene board. Thismaterial is not only enough to make high knot strength of concrete, acid corrosion and permeabilitycharacteristics, but also to reach the purpose of benzene plate light floating above the water. It still maintainstructural integrity and surface without obvious damage in eight level wind.Its effect as an anti-evaporatingmaterial is ideal.(3) Floating plate reinforced composite reinforced with geogrids as reinforced materials, replacedconcrete coarse aggregate and fine aggregate with EPS beads to ordinary portland cement as cementitiousmaterial and adding the right amount of fly ash, the surface layer of paint were made of high-strengthgrout. Laboratory experiment showed its performance was favorable, but in the reservoir field test foundthat the collision between the floating plates and the collision between the floating plates and worn concreteface dam slope are severe, it destroyed the case of five level wind.(4) Carbon fiber reinforced composite floating plate of reinforced composite material floating boardimprovements, to use the floating plate surface for sealing parcels CFRP reinforcing manner. A largenumber of field trials showed significant reinforcing effect, it’s able to withstand wind damage over8. Itseffect as an anti-evaporating material is ideal.
