A Framing Analysis On The News Coverage By News1+1on NPC And CPPCC From2009to2013

In March every year, NPC and CPPCC have increasingly attracted media’s attention. Journalistsboth at home and abroad focus on the Great Hall of the People，stage an intense media war concerningnews coverage of the two conferences. At the same time, media coverage on NPC and CPPCC hasundergone tremendous changes. This paper takes the news coverage on NPC and CPPCC by News1+1as the research object, employing the Framing Analysis, summarizes the variation characteristics andexisting problems of the coverage on NPC and CPPCC in the past five years.This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is an introduction. In this part, we reviewthe literature. On the basis, we explicit the research question, that is taking the news coverage on NPCand CPPCC by News1+1as the research object and explaining the variation characteristics. Then wemake the research method clear, and give a brief introduction of the Frame Theory and the FramingAnalysis. The time scale of this paper is from2009to2013., including all of the102objects. In thesecond chapter, we define the concepts of the research. The third chapter is research findings. Weconstruct the categories of framing analysis. In addition to the conventional issue, that is the reportingnumber, we construct the reporting subjects frame on macro-level, the using of the issues on micro-level.We find that the frame has not been changed in the past five years. The last chapter is conclusion,summarized the characteristics and the problems.
