News Coverage Of "Family Planning" On "People’s Daily" (2001-2013)

Based on a theoretical framework of the News Framing Approach and Framing Analysis, this research, by adopting content analysis and interview the news makers, discusses the frames and the framing of Repots of "Family Planning" on "People’s Daily" from 2001 to 2013.Data analyses has discovered that the perspective of Family planning policy reports are concentrated in the official side, and the reporters use different main news source describe the different aspects of the policy. And the interview content analyses shows that the text frames on People’s Daily are almost the same as the frame of the journalists’acts of making news. Based on the dual analysis, the research has found that with the precondition of the media attribute, the prerequisite factor which affecting the framing of Chinese mainland policy news are the national will and the laws or policies, followed by the political orientations of the media and journalistic routines.
