Objective:Acute rhinosinusitis is Rhinology common disease which is belongs to nasal running in TCM terms. Acute rhinosinusitis is great bad for human health, severely affecting the quality of life. Professor Sun Shuchen built the nasal disease of TCM sequential therapy according to reading a large number of books and summarizing clinical experience for many years. Sequential therapy is a therapeutic method which combines inside governance with outside governance. It consists of the following methods:the TCM vapor to fumigate nasal cavity, collect the distilled liquid drop nose, drink the herbal medicine. To investigate the clinical effect of using sequential therapy to treat the ARS(including CRS patients with acute onset), and compared with traditional Chinese medicine group and western medicine group.to obtain the clinical data.Methods:108ARS of the Lung Channel with wind-heat type patients were randomly divided into three groups:sequential therapy (use the TCM vapor to fumigating nasal cavity combine with drinking the herbal medicine the first week, use the TCM vapor to fumigate nasal cavity the second week)36cases, traditional Chinese medicine(Xanthium powder) group36cases, western medicine group(Amoxicillin/clavulanic acid potassium)36cases.on day0,day7±1,day14±1,record the date of nasal obstruction, running nose, nasal mucosa congestion degree of swelling, headache, smell disorders, local tenderness points, the severity of the diseas visual analogue scale, nasal obstruction visual analogue scale. We regarded2weeks as a course of treatment. Results:the total efficiency of sequential therapy group were91.67%, traditional Chinese medicine84.37%, western medicine group86.21%, no significant difference (p>0.05). There is a significant difference in efficacy level(p>0.05). There is a significant difference in the date of nasal obstruction (p>0.05), sequential therapy group is lower than Chinese medicine group and western medicine group on day14±1. There is a significant difference in the date of nasal mucosa congestion degree of swelling (p>0.05), sequential therapy group is lower than Chinese medicine group and western medicine group on day14±1. There is a significant difference in the date of nasal obstruction visual analogue scale (p>0.05), sequential therapy group is lower than Chinese medicine group and western medicine group on day14±1. There isn’t a significant difference in the date of running nose, headache, smell disorders and local tenderness points.Conclusion:1.In the treatment of ARS(including CRS patients with acute onset) sequential therapy group, traditional Chinese medicine group, western medicine group achieved satisfactory results.2. Sequential therapy group is better than traditional Chinese medicine group and western medicine group in the efficacy level.3.The date of nasal obstruction, nasal mucosa congestion degree of swelling, nasal obstruction visual analogue scale in sequential therapy group is lower than in Chinese medicine group and western medicine group.4.Sequential therapy group found no adverse events, indicating that this therapy safely.5. Sequential therapy is simple, suitable for promotion in clinical practice.
