The Degree Of Intensive Care Unit Nurses’ Compassion Fatigue And The Cause Analysis

Objective To investigated and compare the degree of intensive care unit nurses with general department nurses of compassion fatigue and the cause anaiysis, for further system of administration draft ICU nurses’compassion fatigue intervention measures provide theoretical basis.Methods A total number of300nurses from four grade-3class-A of Qingdao hospital’s intensive care unit and general department nurses’degree of compassion fatigue were investigated. Adopts questionnaire survey, the questionnaire was divided into two parts, the first part was the self-designed demographic questionnaire and the second part was the health care compassion fatigue scale. SPSS17.0perform data analysis applications, using descriptive statistical methods to understand the distribution of the sample in the study of variables, T test and ANOVA comparing the two groups of nurses compassion fatigue distribution between different variables.Results (1)ICU nurses compassion fatigue at higher levels, their total score higher than the general department nurses, and apathy, loss of passion and doubt of ability the three dimension scores compared with general department nurses had statistically significant (p≤0.01).(2) The ICU nurses six dimensions scores from high to low is apathy, negative behavior, loses of passion,doubt of ability,loss of fighting will, mental stress.(3) Married nurses in apathy, negative behavior and loss of fighting will these three dimensions scores higher than the general department nurses; nurses of different ages in the doubt of ability and loss of fighting will these three dimension had statistically significant (p≤0.05); different age and degree of nurses had statistically significant in loss of fighting will dimension (p≤0.05)Conclusions (1) The ICU nurses’ compassion fatigue degree at higher levels, and higher than general department nurses, which was mainly manifested in apathy, loss of passion and doubt of ability, suggest that hospital administrators attach importance to it and take effective measures to prevent and respond to.(2) The cause of ICU nurses of compassion fatigue were ICU poor working environment, ICU nurses with insufficient, lack of social support, patient characteristics and ICU nurses lack of correct understanding of compassion fatigue. (3) The influence factors of compassion fatigue were marital status, age, working time, education.
