Nowadays, SoC (System on Chip) verification takes up about60%to80%time inSoC design flow and becomes one of the main technologies in the realization of SoC.Within the SoC verification, functional verification is an important work in SoCfront-end design. And the most commonly used method in functional verification issoftware simulation. The emulator simulates the circuit by calculating themathematical model. With circuit scale to VLSI(Very Large Scale Integration), thehardware model would become more complex, resulting in the highly increasedcomputation. Therefore, software simulation could not match the needs of SoCverification. More efficient verification methods are needed like the prototypingtechnology. The essence of the prototype verification is to build the SoC hardwaremodule in the FPGA. By testing the prototype, programs can run in this FPGAprototype and, as a result, improve the verification efficiency. In recent years, FPGA technology has developed rapidly. Varieties of resourcesare abundant in FPGA, such as block memory, phase lock loop, DSP, etc. Furthermore,FPGA offers different kinds of standard of I/O. Therefore, FPGA become the mostappropriate carrier for prototype implementation. By the corresponding tools, theprototype can be built quickly. Through prototype testing, the time of functionalverification is reduced greatly. Additionally, software part of SoC could be debugged inFPGA prototype. Those would improve the success yield of chip fabrication. This thesis aims to use FPGA-base prototype method to verify and test XXX DSP.Firstly, the work flow according to the actual requirements based on themethodological of prototype verification is described. Then, this DSP prototype isimplemented on MPSoCs FPGA platform. The correct value of associated registers inexternal bus control module is set according to the type of memory connected to theprototype, so that the prototype can correctly read the program from external memory. Finally, The DSP programs are verified in this prototype verification environment.By XXX DSP prototype implementation and testing, the subject is completed. Itprovides a reference for silicon chips.
