The Study On Communication Effect Of Government Press Release In Public Emergencies

The press conference on the "Bohai II" oil drilling ship capsizedaccident in1980was the first emergency press release of our government.Since the SARS happened in2003, governments began to recognize theimportance of the press release in emergency. Since the beginning of theSARS, the quality of government public events press release have beenimproved, press release system construction has made significantprogress. Wenchuan earthquake in2008and the Olympic Games were notonly a challenge to the government press release, but also made it moremature and perfect. Until today, the government press release capacityhas improved significantly in public emergencies, and more frequentinteraction with the public.This study selected100public emergency cases from2003-2011.Inorder to study the characteristics of the government press release, thisresearch try to analyze the publishing frequency, release forms, releasemedia, publisher and publisher content. Because of time limit, I onlychose public emergency data from2008-2011.From the qualitative pointof view and the statistical quantitative point of view, I try to probe thecommunication effect of government press release, and provide somesuggestion for governments, hoping to help the government improve theability of press release.
