Background:AIDS(Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is a disease that spread quickly and has a high mortality, which threatens the health and development of human beings. It has been a serious public health and social problems that the world faces, as well as one of the infectious diseases of key control in China. Therefore, It is a long-team, complicated and arduous task to prevent and control AIDS. There are no effective treatment measures till now. AIDS knowledge propaganda education can make people understand and master HIV prevention knowledge, cultivate good health way of life, discard all kinds of dangerous behavior that help to spread of AIDS and enhance the ability to against AIDS harassment. It is one of the most important preventive measures to propagandize the AIDS prevention knowledge to people, which could improve the ability to protect themselves.College students is a special group. On the one hand, they are just at the sex active phase, thought emancipated and full of energy, on the other hand, they have a big influence and demonstration effect of the society, at the same time, they have a certain amount of knowledge. Therefore, teaching them AIDS knowledge health can get twice the result with half the effect. They have a unique advantage on propagandizing and popularizing the AIDS knowledge, so it is of great significance for our country young population to develop targeted health education and behavior intervention.Heze city is located at the southwest of Shandong province, and is a less developed area.1980s saw the epidemic of AIDS because of commercial blood donation and the number of AIDS patients and HIV-infected patients is located in the forefront of the province, so AIDS prevention and control is always an important matter of the Heze disease prevention and control work. On the other hand, AIDS control and prevention has made an great achievement along with more investment of the country in AIDS prevention and control, and a deep going way of the work. The experience got from the demonstration area has a big effect of AIDS prevention and control for less developed areas in China. In this study, we investigated the students of Heze Medical specialty school about AIDS knowledge, to learn the AIDS knowledge awareness situation of Heze college students, and to find the questions exciting in present education of AIDS prevention and could provide evidence for high school to generate AIDS prevention strategy in this area.Objective:To understand AIDS knowledge awareness situation of Heze city college students, to evaluate the effect of AIDS health education among Heze college students and to find out the existing problems through the investigation of Heze city college students’ knowledge status about AIDS. The finding could provide an evidence for developing AIDS prevention strategy of Heze high school. College students could act as the breakthrough point to change the attitude of people to AIDS patients and HIV-infected patients and to regulate the individual’s misconduct.Therefore, Heze city university students to evaluate the effect of health education on AIDS knowledge, Heze area for colleges and universities develop and carry out HIV/AIDS prevention and control strategy to provide the reference.Methods:Using stratified random cluster sampling method,400college students as a survey was taken in from Heze Medical College freshman and sophomore majored in Nursing. Anonymous self-administered questionnaire was used to survey and class as a unit, at first, questionnaire was described by the project team teacher, unified questionnaires and recovery on the spot, asking for answering independently. Questionnaire investigation content includes19items on knowledge of AIDS transmission,15on HIV prevention knowledge,10on attitudes, beliefs, behavior of college students knowledge of AIDS. Entry the questionnaire data by Epidata3.0database software and statistical analysis was done by spss13.0statistical software. Analysis the resoult and evaluate the effect from the analysis of different professions, different gender and different grades respectively.Main results:The survey shows that the route of transmission of353college students on19AIDS knowledge overall awareness is79.99%, comparing boys and girls awareness, the difference was not statistically significant (χ2=0.54, P>0.05),2graders overall awareness, the difference was statistically significant (χ2=11.42, P<0.05). The two majors overall awareness comparison, the difference was not statistically significant (χ2=0.11, P>0.05); overall awareness rate of15AIDS prevention knowledge was67.88%, comparing two grade students overall awareness, the differences was statistically significance (χ2=11.42, P<0.05); the20AIDS knowledge overall awareness is65.28%, general awareness of the two graders comparison, the difference was statistically significant (χ2=15.55, P<0.05), comparing the two majors students overall awareness, the difference was statistically significant (χ2=199.01, P<0.05). The results show that concern of the AIDS prevention knowledge, the social problems coused by AIDS was not enough, AIDS awareness differences in the college students of different gender is small, but different grades, majors exist for AIDS awareness differences. The relatively single way that college students understand AIDS is the majority through books and newspapers, radio and television. There are misunderstanding of AIDS knowledge in college students, they are eager to learn more AIDS knowledge, such as the clinical manifestations, AIDS epidemic status, and how to prevent AIDS.Conclusions:College students in Heze City do not understand the AIDS trends, relevant knowledge and social harm enough. There are cognitive differences among students in different grades, majors. The way college students understand AIDS is relatively single, but they are eager to learn more about AIDS knowledge. The research shows that the schools do not pay sufficient attention to college students, who are vulnerable populations, of AIDS prevention knowledge education. The knowledge education classes are not enough, lack of content, a single form of education, and also did not make full use of the role of the network media. Therefore, health education and behavioral intervention should be carried out targeted AIDS-related knowledge among college students in Heze City in a timely.
