The Clinical Research On Liujun Salvia Decoction On The Treatment Of Phlegm And Blood Stasis Due To Qi Deficiency Of Hypertension With Carotid Atherosclerosis

The complications of cardio, brain, kidney and other organ caused by essential hypertension are the main reason leading to the death of the patients wi th hypertension. Arteriosclerosis is one of the most important compl i cat ions of EH. And it also results to the complications appear in the later period of EH.TCM has positive effect to hypertension, for prevention and delay its development of complications. This subject focuses on phlegm and blood stasis due to qi deficiency, the TCM syndrome which occupies the largest share (39.37%) of hypertension and arterial atherosclerosis. And it carries the intervention by TCM, for a contrast with the control group.Research purposes:For revealing the etiology and pathogenesis of hypertension with carotid atherosclerosis, which pertain to phlegm and blood stasis, this subject uses the Eiujun Salvia decoction to treat the hypertensive patients with carotid atherosclerosis. It aslo comfirms the efficacy of the decoction. And provides the basis for TCM to treat this disease.Research Methods:Selected patients which conform the criteria. Set up the treatment group and control group,60cases each. Observed the difference of efficacy on TCM symptoms, IMT and plaque size, as well as a series of laboratory indicators between the two groups. Make conclusions through statistical analysis, and complete the research.Result:After6months’treatment, both sides of the CCA and the left ICA of control group were significantly reduced on IMT (P<0.01), while the right one also decreased (P<0.05); Simultaneously, the IMT of both CCAs, the bifurcation of the left one, and the ICA of treatment group were significantly decreased also(P<0.01). Comparing with control group, the first three indexes were more remarkable (P<0.01).It also had effect on bifurcation of right CCA (P<0.05). The TC of control group reduced (<0.05), while the LDL more obvious (<0.01); The similar results appear in treatment group(<0.01), and more significantly in TC,(P<0.01). For improving the shear rate of blood viscosity values, the treatmennt group was more effecti ve (P<0.01). There is improvement in both groups on qi deficiency and Phlegm symptoms through treatment.(P <0.01). The treatment group is more effective than the control group on fatigue (P<0.01). The effective rate on control group is100%, and the markedly effective rate is41.9%, while it is100%and59%in the treatment group. And the latter one is superior to the former (P<0.01).Conclusion:The Liujun Salvia decoction is significant in treatment of hypertension with carotid atherosclerosis, pertain to phlegm and blood stasis due to qi deficiency, Not only improves the clinical symptoms, but also reduces or reverses the carotid intimal thickening. And it can delay or prevent arterial plaquethe formation also. Achieving the prevention of carotid atherosclerosis, even to systemic vascular, and variety of complications finally.
